P.S. One last helpful hint. To sign your posts like I did above (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).

im not sure it wise to speak of the magical ritual i refferred to, but i can probabl get the information for you, as i have collected instructions for several, including two that MIGHT work ( as in arent complete bull plop, and well, if your a good enough magic user, (good as in skilled) might work.

I'm not saying I'm personally interested, just that it's good practice to cite your sources, or at least go into a little more detail/provide some sort of reference. From what I've seen on Wikipedia, if you can't back up a vague statement like that, it's better not to make it at all. Nickptar 22:20, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)

ive spoken to people reputed to be masters of magic, or at least as much as anyone can be, ive also done rather eshaustive research, both in books at the local universtiy library and online.

(above comment by Gabrielsimon)

Then you should be able to go into detail. (I'm probably coming off as rude or brusque, and I apologize, but my intent is to help you become the best Wikipedian you can.) Nickptar 22:33, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)

it will take me some time to get the sources back from whence i stored them, but i can, and no, your not rude. please be patient, as since i have ADHD i have some troubvle finding where i keep all my crap...

Gabrielsimon 22:39, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)

whats confusing?

(The above comment was by Gabrielsimon. Please sign your posts.)

The sentence you've inserted makes me, and probably everyone unfamiliar with the topic, wonder: What is the other method? What is the nature of the ritual? How is it different - does it work better/worse? Why is it uncommon? Are there strong opinions on it? Etc. You don't need to answer all of those questions, but go into more detail.

blood is only a symbol, in that it carries prannic energy, so the blood isnt nessessary when Turning a vampire, if the vampire who wishes to turn another is suffucuant;ly advanced, they can bond thier life force with that of the turnee, so to speak, thereraby acieving the same effect as blood turning. thing is, that to achieve this, it is required that both be willing participants, and that both are capable of focusing thier minds and meditation. i have witnhessed this performed inside of a circle of salt and sand, which was said to be usefull for purifying the space thatt he two occupied, so that no one could comtaminate the experiance.

Gabrielsimon 17:28, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

All right. If this is in fact a notable part of the culture (as opposed to something no one's ever heard of), then you should clean that up a bit (capitalization, spelling, punctuation), take out the "I have witnessed" (not encyclopedic), and add that to the article and see if it's accepted. It'd be nice if you could cite a source others could refer to (in the appropriate section at the end of the article). Nickptar 20:08, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

its something ive seen one of them do, because he was afraid of blood borne disease.

Gabrielsimon 20:35, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

If you can't cite a source accessible to others (book, Internet) that describes it as notable, it's not encyclopedic. Sorry. Nickptar 21:23, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

guess you wouldnt allow me to say anecdotal evidance?

[edit] Vfd blunders

Just wanted to let your know that your vote on Vfd blunders has been interpreted as "ambiguous". (I didn't make the interpretation.) From your comments it seems to me that you favor Keep, but no one wants to falsely interpret your statements. The vote is currently very close, with about 1/3rd in support of keeping the article. (It says in the policies somewhere that 1/3rd is generally considered sufficient minority support to block a deletion.) Your definitive vote could help swing the outcome either way. - Pioneer-12 00:08, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] My talk page

You recently reinserted a harassing comment by User:Gabrielsimon onto my talk page after it was deleted. I am deleting all acts of harassment and vandalism, especially by such a troublesome editor. Please do not put his comments back in as they will always be deleted without a response until he learns to follow basic civility and other standards of Wikipedia ettiqutette. The fact that you put back a clearly harassing comment after a third party removed it shows poor judgment. DreamGuy 22:55, Apr 26, 2005 (UTC)

does it seem he doesnt know these things of civility? i ask a simple question , one thats meant to help, and he goes all angry and rude, repeatedly... odd no? (this is why i do not take him seriously any more) Gabrielsimon 22:57, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Sorry. I didn't perceive the comment as harassment, didn't notice your reversions of him in the history, and assumed that you didn't want third parties deleting things from your talk page. Won't happen again. Nickptar 23:15, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

its not harrassment. beleive me, if i wanted to harrass him, i could do much morehten ask him a question. its not harrasment, thank you very much. Gabrielsimon 23:17, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Iasson stuff

The reason for impersonating Iasson was to provoke a block on purpose; however, it had unintended consequences beyond the mere block. 24.54.208.177 03:30, 11 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Sandbox

Nickptar,

I'm sorry if that image on the sandbox offended you, so here is an image for you.--AI 00:17, 13 May 2005 (UTC)

The Great Wave at Kanagawa by Katsushika Hokusai (Japanese, 1760–1849)
LOL. Actually, it doesn't really offend me, it's an image thing; I think it's bad if one of the first things a newbie might see is a racist caricature. Thanks. Nickptar 00:23, 13 May 2005 (UTC)
You're right. So I'll be changing my "sandcastle" to something less racist but still comical.--AI 00:32, 13 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks!

Cheers for defending the integrity of my user page from 212.219.11.30! There's some sad cases out there... Anilocra 16:09, 18 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Fossil fuel for reciprocating piston engines equipped with spark plugs

(from WP:LAME) I think once it's settled, Gasoline/Petrol has to go on here.

I couldn't agree more! Have you thought about proposing a move to the above title, its certainly NPOV :) Thryduulf 00:45, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Wikifun: The simpliest...

... may not be the answer. Your answer to Question 18 is partly correct, meaning you were on the right track. However... you might want to look at Question 19 and see where you went wrong. -- AllyUnion (talk) 06:06, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Also, I screwed up the binary. It was suppose to be 0010, not 0001. I hope that helps you to figure it out. -- AllyUnion (talk) 06:41, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] i tried to fix non consensus things...

and i am not sure why, but i keep pulling up a blank page every second time i access this page...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missing_sun_motif

can you fix it?

it supposed to be the missing sun myth page, and someone moved it to motif without consensus, so i tried to move it back....

Gabrielsimon 09:32, 12 July 2005 (UTC)

(separate, unrelated comment; I really should organize my page better):

Whatr the fuck is wrong with you? ~

(unsigned comment by User:Theodore W.)

oh my, thats a question loaded with interpretation questions and of corse how long you have to wait while i explain whats wrong with me.

Gabrielsimon 05:28, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

Actually, that comment has nothing to do with you: Theodore flipped out because I reverted some of his changes on Frisian. Nickptar 05:38, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

oopsies.... Gabrielsimon 05:47, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

I did not flip out, I just asked him what was wrong with him, deleting an attempt to try and write a little article on the word Frisian. 22:34, 2 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] about harshness

i do not bleieve that harshness is the way things work for most around here... when i can , i like to treat others with sme degree of respect and such.... ( im still not good at it) Gabrielsimon 05:28, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

I wasn't saying that most editors are harsh, and so I'd like to apologize for that interpretation as well as for my harshness; I was saying that my perception of NPOV is that medical perspectives should be included. Nickptar 05:38, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

its about a belief, whasts meicine , aside from , say, hypnotic drugs, got to do with belief? Gabrielsimon 05:47, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] why its not true

well, he only reports people for viollations when he thinks its to help him, such as, when he doesnt get his way, he whines. i was trying to get something done, iwas trying to avoid weaslling in wording that wasnt apppropriate " alleged" doesnt belong in a n artioc;e about beliefs, thats an aritcle about acontroversey. asnd thus, it is a lying allegation, and i do have some history with 3rr's so i beleive hes hoping people will just see my name and click block, without checkinbg/ Gabrielsimon 05:47, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

Having been reported for 3RR so many times before, you should realize by now: 1. The motives of the person reporting you don't matter. You broke the rule. 2. Breaking the rule is allowed only in the case of reverting vandalism, which deleting "alleged" isn't. You think you're in the right, but you're still not allowed to revert more than three times. Sorry, that's the way it is. Nickptar 18:34, 1 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Removing votes

You just removed [1] my signature on Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Deletion of VFD. Please do not do this. It is considered very rude and borderline vandalism. If you have an objection to my support, please leave a message on my talk page, but do not change other people's votes or signatures. Thanks. --malathion talk 02:32, 2 August 2005 (UTC)

Ah, I see. No harm done then. Cheers --malathion talk 02:48, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
