[edit] Baron Eötvös Ignácz

A tag has been placed on Baron Eötvös Ignácz, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Finngall talk 22:49, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles that you have created yourself, as you did with Baron Eötvös Ignácz. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please place {{hangon}} on the page (please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag) and make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. --Finngall talk 23:02, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Could you please add some explanatory text to these pedigrees? This is an encylopedia, and so a reader should have some explanation as to why these families are important.
  • Please make use of the "Show preview" button--it's better to do this than to clutter up the article history with a dozen little edits in rapid succession. Thank you. --Finngall talk 23:02, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Szepessy

This article has been nominated for deletion here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Szepessy. It was nominated because there is nothing in this article that explains who this family is and why it is notable enough to merit inclusion in an encyclopedia. It is implied that this is a family of Hungarian nobility, but it needs to be stated more explicitly with some historical background.

You are absolutely welcome to provide your input in this discussion, and I encourage you to do so, but your case will be stronger if you improve the article. AfD discussions are normally kept open for five days but can be closed later or sooner depending on the strength of the consensus or lack thereof.

This information on Hungarian nobility can be a valuable contribution to Wikipedia in a neglected area, and I sincerely hope you will continue, but also remember that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not just a collection of random information, and that articles on this subject need to have some additional context for the benefit of the reader. Thank you, and take care. --Finngall talk 16:55, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
