[edit] Re: Italian opera edits

Yes! To mark words as foreign-language use lang tags - I've done it in the la donna article as an example for you. AWB then recognises the text as Italian, so doesn't apply English corrections to it. Thanks Rjwilmsi 22:54, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Hw about posting a short message on the Opera Project? -- Kleinzach 01:31, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing out the suggestions of Voceditenore. They were very useful; the comments of Ronz were also useful and remind us to "pay careful attention to WP:BLP and WP:NPOV" Because we are discussing a living person, views on whom differ greatly, we will see multiple sides. My only intention is that facts, not statements and perceptions based on the statement from giver's personal baggage, will be allowed to stand. It is a fact that she was dismissed. It was a fact that she rearranged her schedule, (but many singers including pavarotti do this), and it is a fact that cast members were happy that she was dismissed. But that does not mean she was difficult. It could mean that Volpe was an ineffective manager and that the cast was petty. But issues like this can not be verified and cannot be considered fact, because humans are involved and are not always capable of providing a NPOV. Hrannar 21:02, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Well, first off all, in response to ignoring general requests to stop reverting your edits, the both of us have equal say...unless an admin steps in and makes a decision. So your requests are courteous. But I don't have to adhere to them, if it doesn't seem fit. However, I did not intentionally put the gracious back in. At least not since the admininstrators have stepped in. However, I did provide you with links to two sources discussing her as gracious if you care to look at the talk page. So I request that you respect the democratic, collaborative spirit of Wikipedia. And recognize that all members have equal say. And if we cannot agree, than we can request the input of other parties. It was, in fact, a good idea to bring in wikipedia experts for their guidance. It seems to have helped! Take care. 129.74.18.183 23:08, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

I understand that you state that I "purport to cite." I don't really understand what that means. The two articles I cited exist. And you read them, though you did not see or chose not to read the entire articles. The first, the Bermuda review, states, "Indeed, so well received that this gracious and generous artist returned again and again to perform more of the same..."; in the second article, published by the Cleveland Institute of Music, it says, quoting Portsmouth Mayor Franklin Gerlach, "(She) is entirely gracious and in control." I get it. You don't think she's gracious. But others do. 129.74.18.183 23:21, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
