[edit] Religion
I am an uninitiated Hedgewitch which is a positive Pagan religion. We worship a Goddess and a God, though our belief system and deities are entirely different to those found in Christianity. Indeed, that has caused us, among others, to be persecuted by intolerant religions for the past 2000 years.
More information about Hedgewitchcraft can be found on Rae Beth's Website, and general information regarding Witchcraft and Wicca at the Children of Artemis Website. There's some funny pagan humour at the Oh My Gods! website.
[edit] Operating Systems
As well as using Windows Server 2003 for the day to day use of my computer, I am also interested in the following alternative operating systems ...
[edit] ReactOS
Named ReactOS as an abbreviation for Reaction Operating System, and is an open source Windows NT-compatible OS. Although not yet complete, it already runs many applications and a few games including [Quake]. It looks very promising and since I have been following the project, it has gone from using a CLI like that of MS-DOS to a [[Graphical User Interface]|GUI] similar to that of Windows and Mac OS.
I believe this project will be a real alternative to Microsoft's Windows virtual-monopoly within a few years, making PCs much cheaper and opening up the market for all developers to contribute to it's future.
[edit] AROS
AROS is short for Amiga Research Operating System and is an operating system that aims to be compatible with AmigaOS 3.1. As a result of it's open source status, parts of it have been used in the official Amiga operating system, as well as MorphOS which seeks to bring Amiga compatibility to the PowerPC.
AROS currently runs on Intel/AMD x86 PCs as well as the old Motorola 68k Amiga platform. A port is also underway to the PPC platform. Although binaries must be recompiled to run on each processor type, most of the current Amiga-based software is open source so a large software library already exists for people switching from mainstream operating systems such as Microsoft Windows.
This OS is very highly developed already and is very usable with a Live CD being available from the AROS-Max Website for people who want to try it out, and a large user and developer community at the AROS-Exec site.
