[edit] 2001 Giro results

Zinaida Stahurskaia was originally credited with the GC win, but she had failed a doping control during the race, a fact which was not known at the time. Later, the Italian Cycling Federation ruled that she should be stripped of the title which was then awarded to Nicole Brandli with the others moving up. Here is a reference which is still on-line.

Brandli was thus declared the winner more than a year after the coclusion of the event.
