Today I tried my hand at fleshing out a stub. I put in the base article, then added footnotes and some categories. What remains for me now is to complete the links to other wiki-articles. Hopefully, I'll do this right. As to content, let me say emphatically that the data available through the world wide web is not to be trusted very much! I sought primary documents (Thank you, Champlain Society!) and authoritative authors with corroboration. LTC David J. Cormier (talk) 21:23, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- Just a note: while primary sources can be very good, wikipedia usually relies on secondary sources. Wikipedia articles are supposed to reflect the analysis of experts and not contain new analysis (original research). Some primary sources can be incorporated, though.
