Talk:Nickelodeon Universe
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There is also a Camp Snoopy at Cedar Point in Ohio, which is also run by Cedar Fair, LP. Now that I look at it, the Cedar Point article also neglects to mention Camp Snoopy, so perhaps I should just go ahead and write a short blurb for both of these... --Birdhombre 14:27, 15 Mar 2005 (UTC)
[edit] What's the deal?
I would like to know why I just wasted all of my time changing this page, only to have someone revert my edits. It opens on the 15th as NU, today is the 13th, it should not be considered premature. Why should we wait until the 15th? So we can have a sloppy thrown-together page? Also, my edits were not sloppy. I edited it as best I could, and I believe that I worked very hard on it. If you were not happy with the temporary "Nickelodeon Universe (MOA)" title, (which I was waiting to get worked out in the future to take the place of the regular "Nickelodeon Universe" article title) you could have just waited until the title was available. I completely understand and agree that edits before this week to change the Nickelodeon branding were premature, but this is getting ridiculous. The park has already changed I'd say 98% of its signage and has the Nickelodeon Universe website up and running.--Erik16 (talk) 20:05, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] New roller coaster names
The new roller coaster names are on Roller Coaster Database ([1]). Please do not tell me that it is unverified! --Erik16 21:07, 30 November 2007 (UTC) It's nice that they are verified but they have not been re-named yet...so...yeah
[edit] Points?
The article mentions "6 points required", but fails to say what the points are, or how they may be acquired. I'm guessing they're tokens you can buy, but perhaps you can get them through shopping at the mall? GreenReaper 02:22, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
- The points actually come in ticket form with a barcode and a number of points designated to it. Unlimited wristbands are [were] also available. Agivith 04:37, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image quote
the Kite Eating Tree, was renamed Tree Swing after the park lost the rights to the Peanuts characters; however, the Charles Schulz artwork remains on the tree.
I'm pretty sure this is false -- I'm almost positive that the Charlie Brown (and other Peanuts imagery) was removed from the tree. The kites and other 'generic' images remain. Can someone confirm -- I don't get to the mall regularly, especially in the summer. --Rehcsif 04:36, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

- Wow, just after writing that I never get there in the summer, we end up going there tonight. I specifically looked at the ride formerly known as the "Kite Eating Tree", and all Peanuts imagery is indeed gone. In fact, it was done a little sloppy (like most of the Camp Snoopy/Peanuts removal was): They left the "string" which used to be suspending Charlie Brown upside-down, but painted over Charlie -- and if you look closely it looks kinda bad. Anyway, I'm correcting the quote above on the main page now. --Rehcsif 02:36, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
- According to the Avatar Airbender's webcam, the tree has been painted in Nickelodeon colors. Sponge1987 (talk) 02:52, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:CampSnoopybounce.JPG
Image:CampSnoopybounce.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Nick Universe vs Park at MOA
Please refrain from making premature changes to this article, or any related articles (e.g. rides) regarding Nick Universe. For example, the rides should maintain their old names until either the grand opening, or at least to the point where the park changes their signage, etc. For now, the park is still "The Park at MOA". Text noting that the changes are coming are fine -- just don't rename articles, etc. --Rehcsif (talk) 21:37, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

- I agree...PEOPLE NEED TO STOP! I am at the mall at least once a week to confirm which rides have NEW NAMES POSTED and which don't. Do not post names of future rides UNTIL the NAME IS ACTUALLY POSTED outside the ride. Avatar Airbender, Rugrats Reptarmobiles, Splat-O-Sphere, SpongeBob SquarePants Rock Bottom Plunge, Blue's Skidoo, el Círculo del Cielo, Backyardigans Swing Along, Jimmy Neutron's Atomic Collider, and Danny Phantom's Ghost Zone are the ONLY RIDES that are confirmed to have the new names (as of 2/28/08). They should stay, anything additional should be removed. And for the love of god, STOP putting "Green Slime Falls"...It's been confirmed that that would not be completed until AFTER the grand opening. If you are going to change them post PROOF that the information is current. 75.168.123.239 (talk) 09:41, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
It will NOT be called Paul Bunyan's Log Chute, I mean, how wierd would it be to go on a log chute bnamed after Paul Bunyan, but not see him because he will NOT be in it anymore! Why are you putting UNKNOWN if the ride name is known! You can at least put eventually or something. And the sign for Wonderpets Flyboat is up now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.81.226.231 (talk) 21:35, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

- As of right now, it's called Paul Bunyan's Log Chute and will remain so until it is changed...as have ALL OF THE OTHER rides. How do you KNOW he won't be in it? Paul Bunyan is a part of Minnesotan heritage, so they could possibly leave it alone until they completely retheme it to the Green Slime Falls...which will not be anytime soon. Everyone has agreed to change the names ONLY after the sign is posted to reflect such...even if you know the name. Also, we don't need translations of the spanish rides. That's not actually part of the name. Also, some rides like Pineapple Poppers don't have the name of the show in them. According to the latest MOA visitor's guide the name Pineapple Poppers is not preceded with SpongeBob Squarepants. It would be a little silly to put the name of the show before every single ride. 75.168.123.252 (talk) 07:21, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Nickelodeon Universe (MOA) → Nickelodeon Universe — The (MOA) part is uneccessary and the Nickelodeon Universe page already directs to The Park at MOA which in turn redirects to Nickelodeon Universe (MOA) —53180 (talk) 13:48, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Kid's Quest
I have removed the blurb about "Kid's Quest" several times, and it keeps getting re-added. I will argue that the fact that the former park once had a child-care facility that no longer exists is non-notable to the extreme, and therefore it should be removed (I think it's barely notable if it were still open). But obviously some feel otherwise. Can we get a group consensus here? --Rehcsif (talk) 23:05, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- If nobody comments I'll simply keep deleting it I guess. I wait a few days for commentary...--Rehcsif (talk) 20:48, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Map image
Either remove it or get a higher resolution otherwise it is useless. (Pavelow235 (talk) 05:19, 28 April 2008 (UTC))
