[edit] Criticism

Is there no recorded criticism of this the Eugene persona (i.e. as deprecatory toward mentally challenged individuals?) --Dpr 09:35, 4 September 2005 (UTC)

why should there be?
For the most part, Dinsmore's Eugene character has been well-received. This is a bit surprising, seeing as how WWE has a history of creating deprecatory characters based on stereotypes (see: Muhammad Hussan, Billy/Chuck, et al). I think the angle works well because the way they portray Eugene isn't necessarily just a caricature of the mentally challenged. I think it also helps that he is used as more than just a gimmicky source of entertainment—he received a genuine push, and seems to be treated less as a "mentally-challenged wrestler" and more of a wrestler who happens to be mentally challenged.
Of course, none of what I just said has to do with your comment, but this does: there hasn't been a significant enough backlash for it to warrant much of a mention, at least in my opinion. Jeff Silvers 05:45, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
I'm inclined to agree. I don't find criticism worth mentioning unless it gains steam.
Although I wish the WWE let him wrestle as Nick "Mr. Wrestling" Dinsmore. He was very technical back in Ohio Valley Wrestling --Godaiger
Yeah i've heard some backlash but its not consistent or relevant, and i too have heard he is a great technical wrestler and also competent on the mic, so its a shame that he's used for such a lame gimmick
How about the fact that the character of "Eugene" was stolen by WWE from a comedian? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.72.84.29 (talk) 19:10, 22 September 2007 (UTC)

I just wanted to add this to the arguement, look at what Jeff Silvers said. He said if the backlash is enough to be warrented then it should be added in. Well Cena doesn't have a backlash section so there must be some bias somewhere in this situation. AD Double J 03:22, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

How did you feel about Eugene getting beaten up by The Sandman?--Ed-kipedia 20:22, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

That stupid-ass deserved every shot and 50 more.

Shouldn't we have a new pic of eugene since he has a haircut? Sha0000 30 March 2007

[edit] Les Kellet

A number of Eugenes's comedic moves (especially some of his staggers and falls) are reminiscent of the British Wrestler Les Kellet. As Dave "Fit Findlay and Steven/William Regal both wrestled in the UK at that time this may not be coincidence --217.38.244.254 12:11, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] No longer works for the WWE

omg me and my sister couldn't believe it when we heard eugene had been releashed from his wwe contract.I wonder wat happened i hope it doesn't have anything to do wit da drug scandal dats happening. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.72.233.105 (talk) 04:30, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

if it does id be really suprised! i could never imagain eugene taking drugs! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.207.161.152 (talk) 10:39, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Yeahhhh. Sorry to burst your bubble but he was released due to a Wellness violation. Furioku 12:02, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

It's not really that surprising. A few years ago he went into rehab beccause they found him passed out in a hotel lobby. He was probably still on the prescription drugs and got booted because of the new wellness policy. Maxwagner7 14:26, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

I think it's interesting how the WWE website states they have released Eugene. Usually they'd give the wrestler's real name. I may be grasping at straws, but this might just be a super-sweet work that will allow them to "hire" Nick Dinsmore since the Eugene character is now very tired and stale and Dinsmore apparently hates it. In either instance, no matter where he works from now on, I suspect we may see Red Rooster Syndrome as he'll always be Eugene in the minds of the fans. At least, the fans who want to chant and rip on him. --L T Dangerous 15:04, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Don't expect to see Nick Dinsmore in any form. He was released Saturday at the ECW/Smackdown! taping because of violates of the wellness policy. Basically, meaning that he is one of the, now 13, wrestler caught with steroids. The reason Eugene was released and not suspended was because he had been caught with steroids before. --Milkman 22:11, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] ECW

No is there no mention of Nick time in ECW mean he a former ECW TV champion for crying out loud [[User:Supermike|Supermike] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.111.95.147 (talk) 14:38, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

he is not a former ecw tv champion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.117.51.161 (talk) 21:05, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] He wrestles as Ugene Dinsmore, not Eugene Dinsmore

I linked a source that shows he wrestles as "Ugene" Dinsmore now, not "Eugene" (WWE copyright) Dinsmore, yet it was removed, replaced with Eugene and the source removed for no legitimate reason. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.71.72.82 (talk) 12:37, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
