Nicollet Mall Line
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Nicollet Avenue Line is a proposed streetcar corridor in Minneapolis, Minnesota running along Nicollet Avenue and Nicollet Mall from 46th Street South through Downtown Minneapolis (connecting to the Hiawatha Line at Nicollet Mall Station) to the Broadway/Washington Avenue Line on Washington Avenue.
The line would be 4.1 miles long. The track would cost approximately $85,000,000. The total cost would also include a maintenance facility and streetcars, so that cost would be significantly higher than $85,000,000. It would be closer to $115,000,000.
Other proposed streetcar lines that the Nicollet Avenue Line would intersect:
Midtown Greenway Line (Southwestern Minneapolis)
Chicago Avenue Line via 9th and 10th Streets (Downtown)
Broadway/Washington Avenue Line (Northern Terminus)
Ridership estimates for this line are approximately 10,000 to 12,000 weekday riders.
