Nicole Burdette is an American film writer, poet, playwright and actress. She wrote the play Chelsea Walls, which she adapted to film in 2001.
in 2001 her film Maze, starring Laura Linney won the Best Screenplay Award at the Newport Film Festival. She was on of the co-founders of the Naked Angels (theater company) in 1986, where she has worked on several plays about social topics.[1]

As of 2008 Burdette is a faculty member at the The New School for Drama in New York City and has also taught at Columbia University.[2]

The film was directed by Ethan Hawke and released by Lions Gate Films in April 2002. It starred Kris Kristofferson, Uma Thurman, Rosario Dawson and others, original score by Wilco, and produced by Indigent Productions, Independent Film Channel and Killer Films.
