Nicolas Entel was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He holds a BA in Film Directing from the Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires, and a Master’s Degree in Broadcasting Administration from Boston University.

Since 2000, he divides his time between in New York City, where in 2002, he co-founded Red Creek Productions, and Buenos Aires. The company has now offices in New York, Buenos Aires and Costa Rica.

In addition to supporting the release of his first film, Orquesta Tipica, Entel is developing the company’s slate of feature films. It includes the doc Sins of my father which Nicolas Entel is directing in Colombia and the US, and five other feature films, among them: La Difunta, a drama set in the US – Mexican border that Entel hopes to turn into his third film. The film is being developed as part of Nalip’s Latino Writers Lab and got Mr. Entel accepted at the 2005 Sundance Independent's Producers Conference.

Orquesta Tipica has been accepted in over a dozen film festivals including the Beverly Hills Film Festival (where it won the Audience Choice Award), Wild River (opening night), Temecula (US), Turcs and Caicos, San Rafael and Tandil (Argentina). It will open in theaters in Argentina in March 2007.

Entel has written articles for several magazines and has as won grants and awards from several organizations, among them: the Berlinale Talent Campus, Kodak, the American Pavilion at the Cannes Film Festival, MPAA, IDFA’s Jan Vrijman Fund, Nalip, the Beverly Hills Film Festival, INCAA, the Sundance Institute, IFP, Boston University and the Universidad del Cine.
