Nicolas De Santis

Nicolas De Santis (born Madrid 18 March 1966) is the Secretary General of Gold Mercury International, a non-profit, think tank and award organisation founded in 1961. Based in London, Gold Mercury specialises in global governance and ethical leadership. Gold Mercury International grants the Gold Mercury Awards for outstanding achievements in eight global governance challenge areas. Award Winners include high profile heads of state including Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of Liberia, H.R.H King Juan Carlos of Spain, U.S. Presidents Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford and Anwar Sadat of Egypt.

Nicolas De Santis is regarded as a Corporate Visionary and expert in Global Governance and Ethical leadership assisting governments, global organisations and CEO’s to develop vision and sustainable strategies for the future. He is also the CEO of Twelve Stars Corporate Vision Strategists.

During the 1990’s he developed and launched the high profile and controversial project Captain Euro, Europe’s superhero. The project was created to analyse the perceptions and emotions of Europeans regarding federalism and European identity.

As an internet entrepreneur he has launched several internet start ups including beenz.com (the first internet currency system) and opodo the online travel portal owned by the major airlines of Europe. He sits on the boards of several companies including U.S. public company Lyris, an e-marketing solutions leader. Nicolas De Santis is the son of famous spanish actress Maria Cuadra and film producer Eduardo De Santis.
