Nicolás Peric (born October 19, 1978 in Talca, Chile) is a Chilean goalkeeper of Serbian origin, who currently plays for Gençlerbirliği in Turkey. His nickname is Loco (crazy).
Peric began his professional career in his home team of Rangers. He than spent one year with U. de Concepción in 2004. In December of 2004 Peric was suspended for six months by the CONMEBOL because he had tested positive for cocaine before a game against Bolivar in La Paz, Bolivia. In that very game Peric scored a goal.[1][2] Returning for the Clausura of 2005, Peric was set to play for Concepción but refused to stating the financial state of the club as the reason. He was soon sold to Unión Española where he rarely got playing time, but the club was the defending champions.
His best moment of his career has come with Audax Italiano where he has played in the Copa Libertadores and has finished runner-up and third place in the 2006 Clausura and the 2007 Apertura tournaments respectively. For the 2007 Copa America Peric received a call up the national team. In January 7, 2008, it was confirmed that, Chilean goalkeeper will play for Genclerbirligi in Ankara, Turkey.[3]
