Nicodemus, Kansas is a small unincorporated community in Graham County in North Central Kansas, located 2000 ft (610 m) above sea level in the middle of the Great Plains region of the United States. There are 27 residents.[citation needed] The town was founded in 1877. Nicodemus National Historic Site, commemorating the only remaining western town established by African Americans during the Reconstruction Period following the American Civil War is in town. During the last weekend of July, former residents of the town return for celebrations and parades.
