[edit] Biography
Clyne graduated from Hugh Boyd Secondary School in Richmond, British Columbia, in June 2000. She has also attended courses at the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University, both in the Vancouver area.
Clyne is 5 feet 6 inches (1.68 m) tall. According to a fan Q&A from November 2006[1], she owns a 1968 motorbike, and is said to have hated Barbie dolls when she was a child. Many fans affectionately associate corn muffins, and the phrase "corn muffin goodness", with Nicki Clyne and Cally—the result of a non sequitur online joke that propagated on fan messageboards[citation needed].
Her favorite directors are Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch and Martin Scorsese, and her favorite movies are "Julien Donkey Boy" and "Gummo", both by Harmony Korine.[citation needed]
She has also been featured in two episodes of the popular podcast Tiki Bar TV.
[edit] Battlestar Galactica
In 2003, a three-hour Battlestar Galactica miniseries was created based on the original 1978 series. Clyne played the role of Specialist Cally, a Flight Deck Crewman in the Colonial Fleet, though this role was little more than an extra part with a few speaking lines. A weekly series was commissioned in a collaborative effort between the Sci Fi Channel and Sky TV (the British broadcaster) soon after, and Clyne continued her role in the series, becoming a regular character as the show progressed. In an episode of the fourth and final season, "The Ties That Bind", her character is murdered. However, it remains unknown if she will make any future appearances as there have been cases where actors have made later appearances after the death of their characters; Clyne herself insinuates this to a degree by mentioning her "commitments" to the show in a blog entry dated April 10, 2008. Her character is not based on any particular character from the original 1978 series.
