Nick Ramus (September 9, 1929 – May 30, 2007) was a Native American actor, best known for his appearances on television. He was Blackfeet Indian.
He played Gus Nunouz in the soap opera Falcon Crest and had a recurring role as Chief Black Kettle in Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. Other TV credits include: Gunsmoke, Little House on the Prairie, Northern Exposure, MacGyver and Walker, Texas Ranger.
Ramus starred in the first Native American language film, 1980s Windwalker. He also appeared briefly in the film Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. Ramus died on May 30, 2007 in Benson, Arizona. Age and cause of death were not given.[1]
