Nick Harmer

Nicholas Harmer (born January 23, 1975 in Landstuhl, Germany) is the bass guitarist for the group Death Cab for Cutie.

He attended Governor John R. Rogers High School in Puyallup, Washington, and was President of his senior class.
Nick also attended Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA where he was a member of several bands before joining Death Cab For Cutie.
In the short documentary "Open Windows" Nick said he only wears black, blue and brown. For concerts he cuts long sleeve shirts to three quarter legnth shirts.
His father, George Harmer, is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army and is a former controller for Gensco, Inc, a Tacoma, Washington wholesale firm. His mother, Sheryl Harmer, has just resigned as a director with the nonprofit organization Committee for Children, based in Seattle, Washington. Nick has one brother named Andrew who was recently married in May.
