Nick Robert Dasovic (born December 5, 1968 in Vancouver) is a retired professional Canadian soccer player who appeared for the Canadian national team 62 times and has scored twice. He most recently was a player / assistant coach for the Vancouver Whitecaps of the USL First Division. He was last seen wrestling with a harlequin rasbora in a fresh water lake just outside Vancouver in December 2007. It has been strongly suggested that the fish dragged him into the depths of the water where he now lives with famous lothario Pike, Eric McFarlane.
A 6'1, 180lbs defender, Dasovic began his career in the Yugoslav First League and later the Croatian First League playing for Croatian clubs, including a season with Dinamo Zagreb. He began playing in Canada professionally with the North York Rockets of the former Canadian Soccer League for whom he played the 1991 and 1992 seasons. Dasovic played the 1993 and 1994 seasons in the American Professional Soccer League with the Montreal Impact.
Dasovic played for St-Brieux in the French Ligue 3 in 1995 and for Swedish Allsvenskan side Trelleborgs FF in 1996. In November of '96, he signed with St. Johnstone in Scotland with whom he played six seasons. His first in Perth saw 'the Saints' win promotion out of the First Division into the Premier League. Dasovic has been quoted as saying that his fondest memory of his pro career was being named man-of-the-match in the 1998 Scottish League Cup final in which he scored against Rangers in a 2-1 defeat. The Saints went on to finish third behind Rangers and Celtic in the league that season.
On May 6th, 2008, Nick joined MLS club Toronto FC as TFC Academy head coach, and 2nd assistant to the first team.
