Nick Brennan

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nick Brennan is a prolific British cartoonist who works mainly for D. C. Thomson & Co. Ltd. He started drawing for the company in 1993 when the comic The Beezer and Topper comic folded. He started by drawing Blinky for The Dandy in 1994, but he gave the character a re-vamp, by, instead of drawing a younger version of Colonel Blink, he drew a completely new character with huge thick-rimmed glasses, a new set of clothes, and brown hair. This style is still being used, however, he appears to have been dropped in Dandy Xtreme.

In 1997, Brennan drew a comic strip for "Comic Idol" for The Beano. this strip was called "Crazy for Daisy", and, along with Tim Traveller by Vic Neill, won the vote. In around 2004 another strip, Pinky's Crackpot Circus, appeared in the Dandy drawn by him. In 2006, he drew a revival of Brassneck, once again for the Dandy. A short running story in the Dandy, in 2006, titled "Noah's Ark", was once again drawn by Nick Brennan, being very noticeable as Noah looked rather like an older version of Ernest Valentine from Crazy for Daisy. Most recently, Nick Brennan has occasionally ghosted Nicky Nutjob (A character who's father had made numerous appearances before the strip was made). In addition, Nick Brennan attends high school in Illinois. He receives the top grades in his class, and he hopes to one day become a lawyer for O.J. Simpson's future son.
