Nick Benjamin (Born May 29, 1961 in Trinidad - Died in 2007 in Winnipeg, Manitoba) was an offensive lineman with the Ottawa Rough Riders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers from 1985 to 1993.

[edit] Collegiate career
Nick Benjamin played for Concordia Stingers of Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec. He was twice named an All-Canadian and conference all-star. After his career he was inducted into the Concordia University Sports Hall of Fame.
[edit] CFL career
Nick Benjamin was the first overall selection of the Ottawa Rough Riders in the 1985 CFL Draft, Benjamin played five seasons for the Riders before joining the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1989. He spent five seasons in a Blue Bombers uniform before retiring following the 1993 season.
His football career included his selection as the CFL’s East Division Nominee for the Schenley Award as Outstanding Rookie in 1985 while a member of the Ottawa Rough Riders. He also won a Grey Cup as a member of the 1990 Blue Bombers team that defeated the Edmonton Eskimos 50-11. That team included the likes of Greg Battle, David Black, Bob Cameron, Rod Hill, Rick House, Stan Mikawos, Trevor Kennerd, James Murphy and Chris Walby. He retired from the CFL after the 1993 season.

After his Football career he remained active in the Winnipeg community. He was diagnosed with kidney disease. The disease would eventually take his life in 2007 at the age of 46.
