Lieutenant General Nicholas (Nick) R. Parker CBE is the Commander of Regional Forces at Land Command.

Nick Parker was commissioned into the Royal Green Jackets in 1973.[1] He went on to command the Second Battalion the Royal Green Jackets.[1] In 1997 he was given command of 20th Armoured Brigade which was deployed to Bosnia in 1999.[2]

In 2001 he became Commander of British Forces in Sierra Leone[3]. In 2002 he went on to become General Officer Commanding 2nd Division.[1] In 2004 he served as Commandant of the Joint Services Command and Staff College[1] before taking over as Deputy Commanding General of the Multi-National Corps, Iraq in 2005. In 2006 he became General Officer Commanding Northern Ireland. In Northern Ireland he was responsible for reducing the UK's troop commitment in the Province and is quoted as saying "that the military had made a significant contribution to security in Northern Ireland that has allowed other people to make the difference through politics, social programmes and economics"[4].

In October 2007 became Commander of Regional Forces at Land Command[5]. He is also currently Colonel Commandant of the Rifles.
