Nicholas Richard Michael Eliot, 9th Earl of St Germans was born January 26, 1914 in Marylebone, London [1]to Montague Charles Eliot, 8th Earl of St Germans and his wife Helen Agnes Post.

Lord St Germans was educated at Eton College and became a Captain in the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry, attached to the Royal Armoured Corps. He was a Privy Counsellor, JP, DL.

On September 16, 1960, he succeeded his father to become the 9th Earl of St Germans.

Lord St Germans married three times:

  1. On April 25, 1939 divorced 1947, to Helen Mary Villers (April 17, 1915 [2] - December 6, 1951) with children:
    1. Peregrine Nicholas Eliot (January 2, 1941 - )
    2. Lady Frances Helen Mary Eliot (March 6, 1943 - January 6, 2004) who was married 9 October 1965 (div 1987) to the Earl of Shelburne, with issue 2 sons and 2 daughters.
  2. On May 27, 1948 divorced 1959, to Margaret Eleanor Wyndham, with no issue
  3. In 1965, to Mary Bridget Thomas, with no issue.

Lord St Germans died on 1988-03-11 in Tangiers, Morocco [3], and his titles passed to his son, Peregrine Nicholas Eliot
