Nicholas William Downs is an American actor.

Downs was born in Des Moines and raised in the nearby town of Bondurant, Iowa. He plays a leading role in the soon-to-be-released film, Anderson's Cross (2007). He has played supporting roles in major motion pictures, including The Holiday (2006) Constantine (2005), The Girl Next Door (2004), and Pearl Harbor (2001). He was recently cast as a lead in the upcoming film Prep School. He currently lives in Los Angeles, CA. In March 2007, he and other producers of Anderson's Cross headed out to Atlanta, Georgia for the Independent Black Film Festival of Atlanta. Anderson's Cross took home the top prize of 'Best Feature'. In 2007, Anderson's Cross also won 'Best International Feature' at the Bridgetown Film Festival. They were a 'Finalist' at the Hollywood Black Film Festival and also screened at the San Francisco Black Film Festival. Anderson's Cross also was one of the finalists in the Moondance International Film Festival, which took place in September 2007 at the Universal City Walk in Hollywood, CA. Nicholas recently Guest Starred on the Season Premiere of "Cold Case (2008 TV) as the Young Dylan Noakes.

Nicholas Downs lands yet another role in the feature film Duck Farm No. 13. He plays the part of Bobby, a small town cop. The film also stars veteran actress Theresa Russell. It is being helmed by director Becky Smith and is being shot in McGregor, Iowa. The role is just one of many Nicholas has landed this year. Less than a month ago he was seen in the highly rated season premiere of the hit show "Cold Case" where he played a teenager wrongly accused of murder. He has also been gathering quite a cult following with the short film "Orion Slaves Girls Must Die" where he plays a boy obsessed with everything Star Trek. He can also currently be seen on the festival circuit in the film "Anderson's Cross" which has been highly received. And just last week it was announced that he would be starring in the lead role of the feature film "Prep School" which will be shooting in British Columbia, Summer of 2008.

Nicholas also has just been attached to the film "Pure Shooter". In the film he will play the role of Billy. The film is based on a true story about "A young man with incredible basketball skills barely survives segregation, racism and an abusive father." The film is set to shoot in Wilmington, NC.
