Nicholas County High School

Nicholas County High School is nestled in Nicholas County, West Virginia. Nicholas County High School has recently seen an incline in student population as the sister high school, Richwood High School has seen a steady decline. NCHS has 900 students, as well as 100 faculty members. NCHS has acheived the accomplishment of placing 16th in the WVSSAC Football Tournament in 2007, as well as 8th in the WVSSAC Cheerleading Tournament in 2007. Nicholas County also boasts the title of having the 7th place in the nation Future Problem Solvers Team. The mascot for NCHS is the Grizzly Bear. School colors are Old Gold, and Old Navy.

During the 2007 season the Nicholas County Marching Grizzlies have grasped the title as, "The New Pride Of Nicholas County." This accomplishment after beating long time rival Richwood High School at the 2007 Tri-State Marching Band Festival.

Nicholas County High School holds the honors of receiving a 94% on the West Virginia Writing Assesment combined to the low score of Richwood High School placing Nicholas County in the top precentile.
