Nicholas Breakspear RC School is situated on the rural fringe of St Albans, an old Roman city in Hertfordshire, England. Known popularly to its students as 'Nicky B', it is a sports college with regularly high exam results. It has just over 1000 students on its roll.[1]
The school takes its name from the twelfth-century priest Nicholas Breakspeare, who, as Pope Adrian IV, is the only Englishman ever to have occupied the papal chair.
Its current headteacher is Mr Philip Jakszta, with deputy headteachers being Mrs Whittle (Geography Department) and Mr Shapland (Science Department).
