Nichola Burley is a British actress born in Harehills in Leeds and former pupil of the cities Intake High School.[1]
Nichola's acting career began in 2005 when she appeared as Michelle in the Dominic Savage film Love + hate.[2] In November 2005 she had a minor part in The Ghost Squad.
In February 2006 Nichola had another minor role, this time as Chloe in hit channel 4 drama Shameless.
It was in September 2006 that Nichola appeared in Channel 4 show Goldplated appearing as Donna throughout the shows run.[3]. Although a second series was never commissioned due to low ratings.[4]
In November 2006 Nichola received much praise for her role as Zoe, in the BBC one-off drama Born Equal. The BBC described the show as one which "addresses social inequality in Britain today."[5] Directed and written by Savage again, the show also starred Robert Carlyle and Colin Firth. As part of her research for the show she traveled to meet young runaways in London.
Nichola has also starred as Cathy McAleer in BBC Three show Drop Dead Gorgeous throughout it's first run in 2006 and it's second in 2007.
Nichola then appeared as Bollywood Jane at the West Yorkshire Playhouse throughout June 2007.[6]
