[edit] Plot
This telenovela focuses on the love lives of the three daughters of don Clemente Soriano: Isabella, Diana, and Carolina. Isabella is in love with Victor Izaguirre, a well-known veterinarian who is not legally divorced from his estranged wife Consuelo, the mother of his two daughters: Ximena and Pili.
At first, the conflict of this couple will center on the engagement of Isabella and Cesar, the horse trainer of Clemente Soriano, and whom Isabella will dump at the altar to flee with Victor. Then, the conflict is based on the jealousy that Karina, Clemente's wife, provokes on Isabella when she is trying to harass Victor.
Consuelo returns to recover her daughters and husband, and she doesn't do anything about Ximena rejecting Isabella. Victor will not accept this, and Consuelo exploits the situation and gains full custody of the children after trial.
Isabella also has a parallel situation that has to do with her origins. For her, it is painful to know the truth about her birth and her origin and she feels anger against Paz, her nanny, for having lied to her. In the end, Clemente accepts the truth in front of Isabella.
Octavio Urriarte and his mother Socorro have been the enemies of Clemente, since both think Clemente killed Octavio's brother, Servanto, to steal his properties and marry his Servanto's wife, Isabella. Octavio and Clemente are also business rivals. But only Paz, the faithful maid of Clemente and the "nana" (nanny) of the three Soriano sisters, and Pascual, the foreman of Clemente's ranch "La Noria" and his trustee, know the truth of what really happened between Clemente and Servanto 28 years ago.
Diana, the least brave of the Sorianos, falls in love with Octavio, who use to be her professor when she studied architecture. At first, what separates the couple is the fact that they are from two rival families, and their age difference. The fact that Mauricio, protegé of Octavio, is also in love with Diana, adds up to the other two obstacles. Even with all of these impediments, Diana gives herself to Mauricio's love, but then realizes that the hate between the two families seesm unsurmountable. Octavio, disillusioned with Diana, marries Mariagna, his old girlfriend.
Carolina, the youngest of the Soriano sisters, returns from her studies in the United States to rekindle her relationship with Rafael, a man who comes from a middle class family and who only wants her money. Pablo, Paz's son, has always been in love with her and has to bear all the humilliations that Carolina subjects him to. In the end, Carolina admits that she is also in love with him, and the two give themselves to each other with passion.
Clemente, in order to separate them, lies to Carolina by saying Pablo is her brother. Horrified, Carolina marries Rafael against the fury of Pablo who ignores everything. Also, Clemente tells Paz what he did and tells her that if she doesn't go along with the lie, her son will suffer the consequences. When Carolina finds out the truth, she wants to divorce Rafael, who in return responds by raping her. Carolina tries to commit suicide and in the hospital, a guilty Clemente confesses to her the truth. Carolina is disappointed by her father even more when he wants her to keep her marriage afloat.
On the other hand, Karina is discovered making love with Rafael, who is killed by a jealous lover. Clemente becomes ill after the emotional impact of these events.
Without intention, Clemente becomes the villain of the story. He receives what he deserves when his marriage is destroyed. He becomes isolated and rejected by his daughters, who are his most prized treasure. However, he recognizes all the errors he has made, accepts his daughters' lifestyle and romantic decisions and obtains forgiveness from them.
