NHL Face off was SCEA's first Hockey IP for the Playstation. The game spawned sequels but the series didn't make the jump to PS2 or the PS3. This game was in a series of early SCEA sports games including NFL Gameday and ESPN Extreme Games (later renamed the Extreme Games series). The game was a playstation launch title back in November 1995. The game featured multiplayer.
