General Nguyễn Hữu Có was a general of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam and a participant in the 1963 South Vietnamese coup that deposed President Ngo Dinh Diem and ended in his assassination. At the time, Co was a colonel and was charged by his superior General Ton That Dinh with using the Seventh Division to encircle Saigon to prevent loyalists from the IV Corps from saving Diem.
