NGDEK

NGDEK (in Bulgarian:НГДЕК - Национална гимназия за древни езици и култури - Константин Кирил Φилософ) is an elite Bulgarian high school for ancient languages and cultures located in Sofia. It was founded in 1977 by Gergina Toncheva, who is still principal of the school and gave its name St. Constantine-Cyril "The Philosopher". The challenging curriculum includes Latin, Ancient Greek, Old Church Slavonic and Cultural Studies of Antiquity, among others. An educational trip to Greece in the 10th grade is the highlight of the comprehensive program.
