My name is Nathan Fiala and I am a PhD student in economics at the University of California, Irvine.

My research is on the economics of development and conflict, specifically in sub-Sahara Africa, though I sometimes work on environmental related issues of meat consumption.

¹ Afollo is the Acholi word for hello. The Acholi are a Luo speaking people in northern Uganda, where I have spent a lot of time studying the impact of social and community support funding.
