Nezumia toi is a rattail of the genus Nezumia, found only in New Zealand at depths of about 950 m. Its length is about 15 cm.
The very rare Nezumia toi has the usual greatly elongated thin pointed tail of the rattails, as well as very large eyes and a short pointed ridged snout with three large spiny sclerites on the tip. There are a few large widely spaced serrations on the front of the first long dorsal fin ray, and the first pelvic fin ray is elongated. There is a small chin barbel.
The colour is grey-black on the body with a brownish tail.
