[edit] Jesse Frey

Hi, I am Jesse Frey I go by the hard to guess name Jessef on most forums that I attend and this is no exception. I live in Fairbanks AK, USA and am studying Electrical engineering at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. My high school government teacher mentioned wikipedia but I for some reason was uninterested by it. Then I got directed here through Google searches a few times and it was quite helpful and now I use it often. I like cross country skiing and biking as well as programing, mostly for my ti-89.

[edit] mslano

Hello. I started contributing here as part of a project for one of my classes at Vanderbilt University, but I will continue to contribute after that project is completed. I have mainly done edits so far, but I will work an creating my own articles more in the future (provided I find areas of interest and knowledge for me that do not have articles). I am pleased to be part of this community and I look forward to learning more about its workings as well as meeting other people working to make Wikipedia great. Mslano 08:19, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Gmos62 Marty O

I discovered the site, by performing a Google search on Spring Forward, you then go to page 2 of the Google choices, and I was quite surprised to find this site. I had never heard of Wikipedia before. I am intriqued with the concept of being able to offer knowledge, in the areas of expertise. I hope this site is successful and I believe that it is. I would be happy to offer my knowledge, as the opportunity comes up. I work in Customer Service, in the retail industry, and with Interactive Distant Learning, over Satellite. I have an Amatuer Radio License KE7AEW, "Ham Radio" I enjoy Bowling, Hiking, Fishing, The Arts, Sales of Auto Parts. I work with people each day who, are trying to attend training sessions, that are taught over Satellite. These same people seem to get confused with time zones, so I have an interest in time zones, and helping others understand how they work. Best regards...Gmos62 Marty O. [edit] Ayesee

Hello all.

I am an English student at West Virginia University in Morgantown, West Virginia. My academic focus is on literature, most notably British Literature and Western Literature. However, I am very well versed in others areas, including American Literature and Science Fiction. The subject I have the most knowledge about is most likely Robert Heinlein and his works.

In have a very wide ranging knowledge base, and feel that I will be of assistance to any article of any type, although the naturally I will excel at some subjects (Literature) more than I will others (the history of coat hanger). I would enjoy working on any number of subject, or just meeting fellow friends and scholars. Ayesee 14:56, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

I'm 23 and suprisingly I live in Manchester.

[edit] LessHeard vanU

What to say? I will post the bare bones of who I am on my user page, since I am going to use it as my personal sandbox in developing my "style".

Interests? Many and varied, with no or little expertise in most of them. I am, however, an avid reader of Encyclopidia, Dictionaries and books of quotes which leads me to...

How did I get here? I use Google as my preferred Search Engine, and found a lot of the most relevant results were coming from this site. I started looking for wiki... in any results listing. One day I found an error in an article, and noticed an "edit this page" function. I amended the article and saved, without any of the protocols I have now learned. At the time of writing my edit remains, and I was encouraged to do more. Of course, I later had a contribution edited out of an article with a note in the history that the connection I made was incorrect. I realised then that I needed to register so that I could enter into a discussion on why it was considered incorrect, in the appropriate manner.

So, here I am.LessHeard vanU 20:59, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

On reading through the Wiki articles on Science, it seemed to me that the Wiki admonition to "Be Bold" was being suppressed, by contributers who are afraid of being caught up on minor errors. So I figured I might try to use a somewhat broader brush, and offer some ideas that might be thought "controversial" in the "Peer Reviewed" (aka censored) journals; but which I think have a firm basis in reality. Please feel free to comment. -StanAZ

[edit] Cory Fryling

Hello! I am a 29-year-old male in Los Angeles, California. My primary interest is in music of all styles but especially electronic and dance music. Lately, in fact, I've become obsessed with Kraftwerk and am working my way through their entire catalog! LGBT activism is a secondary interest.

Image:Plantronics Pulsar 590 Cordless Headset.jpg
Plantronics Pulsar 590 Cordless Headset

I don't consider myself particularly knowledgeable in any major areas, and my contributions to Wikipedia are likely to be sporadic and limited to very specific instances. In fact, the reason I am officially becoming a contributor is that I've recently done a bunch of research on the subject of audio streaming via Bluetooth and have found that there's little good information out there for the consumer. Thus, I'm planning to add my findings to the Bluetooth page with the hope that it may help others who, for instance, are looking for a headset (headphones) that streams music (from an adapter or directly from a Bluetooth device) and also acts as a phone headset, such as the Plantronics Pulsar 590 Cordless Headset (like the one shown here), which I recently purchased. It's significant because most devices that seem like they should be capable of audio streaming, in fact, aren't, and I've learned this thanks to hours of scouring the web.

I am a "Total Quality Management" kind of guy (I mean that partially tongue-in-cheek), and when I come across areas (either virtual or in the real world) where I can add value, I feel compelled to do so. As such, I would like to contribute on an as-helpful basis whenever I use Wikipedia in my research and find something missing or incorrect. Given my disposition toward innovation and perfectionism (both in the philosophical sense and in the psychological sense), I'm interested in making my contributions as valuable as possible, which is why (as you can probably see here) I'm spending the time learning how to add wiki markup.

I think I first learned about Wikipedia via common results through a web search engine, probably Yahoo! Search.

Cheers!

I like to find little errors in Wiki and fix them. Up to now, I haven't had a regular user account, though I have made edits to several pages. I figured it was time to legitimize.

I read old books, I like history, good TV comedy, all kinds of music, rocketry, Ham Radio, electronics, home improvement, all things tech or science.

I hate pompous twits. Recently, Wikipedia helped me insult a member of my dissertation committe by helping me be sure of the details of a 'Napoleon complex'. That person is no longer on my committee.

Hey everyone! I'm a long time anonymous user of wikipedia, and have made anonymous changes in the past (just small stuff; typos and grammatical errors) and decided to sign up for an actual account a little while ago. Mostly I've only used it to continue making small changes, but I've also totally overhauled one page (be bold!) which I found that was not only slightly lacking, but happily enough I also had some knowledge of.

Hey, I'm Steph, a stop-motion animation student from Portland, Oregon. I use Wikipedia all the time, and am continually amazed by the wealth of knowledge it provides. Although I am a frequent peruser of articles, it wasn't until recently that I dug further and started learning about the community and work that goes into building the site, and wanted to get involved. The idea of contributing to this encyclopedia is a little intimidating (although I just made my first edit), but sometimes I'm surprised by articles that need more information, and it seems better to actively help than to sit around waiting for somebody else to do it for me.

Also, I wanted to thank the people who came up with this idea and everyone who contributes. Whenever I have a question, the first place I look is Wikipedia.

Hi! I joined Wikipedia a few weeks ago, because I thought it gave me so much information I had best give something back. I'm fairly new to the site, so I'm still learning how to use the main features, but I should be sorted soon.

I have a lot of interests; I particularly enjoy listening to music and writing short stories. None of my stories are any good, but I get better (I hope!). I first encountered Wikipedia when searching for information on the Crusades, and found it incredibly useful, so I now take time to help contribute, update, and just generally be helpful. —Preceding unsigned comment added by twit8514 (talkcontribs)

[edit] Adventure travel

Hello, I'm Tony Jones. a.k.a Captain Tony, Publisher/Editor www.Adventureguide.com What is an adventure? Surely the answer must depend on each individual's character, lifestyle, fitness level, and desire to seek stimulation for her/his mind and/or body.

For some individuals, the level of sheer exhilaration needed can be no less than that felt while bungee jumping, sky diving, or climbing an ice-wall.

For most others, we seek not so much the need for physical challenge as change from our everyday lifestyle. Perhaps a weekend of hiking or cycling through a national park, canoeing round a sheltered bay, or trail-riding through a little known valley in Fiji.

Less stressful on the body, but equally exciting food for the mind is the pleasure many receive when searching out that rare species of bird in a remote Taiwanese river gorge, photographing a near extinct panda in China, or completing a long dreamed of cooking course in Provence.

Share your dream adventure with us, real or still to be realized.

I'm a 59 year-old Vietnam veteran. I spent 20 months in a frontline combat unit, my MOS was medical specialist, medic. I was wounded three times. I came back home, was immediately sentenced to four years in prison for a drug and alcohol related string of armed robberies. I served 18 years in prison, on that original four years. I murdered two inmates while serving my time. Each one got me more time added on. Eventually I served 18 consecutive years, being released in 1986. I got off drugs, and alcohol, have been substance free since January 1, 1987. I'm married, published a book of my prison experience, REFLECTIONS ON THE WALL, ICAN Press 1994. For many years I lectured at San Diego State University, teaming with Dr. L. Paul Sutton of the Criminal Justice Department on books, and documentary movies. I retired, in 2000. I have since gone back to lecturing in CJ at ITT Tech, here in my home town, of San Diego. I'm married, and live in a suburb of San Diego.

I was born here, in 1946, my mother, a Hispanic, left us at age 8, and I was raised by my father, an Italian. I speak Spanish, French, Vietnamese, and Cambodian fluently. I also am conversation al in Japanese, Russian, and Italian, also have a working knowledge of Latin. I occasionally speak Greek as well, my ex-wife was Greek, I learned the language from her.

I basically go to meetings of 12-step groupls, don't get in anyone's way, and generally try and be an example of someone who was a REALLY bad guy, being a REALLY GOOD guy now. This is my goal, and I've managed over 20 years out of prison, and substance free living.

[edit] Michael W. Posey

My main areas of interest are essentially how our country has managed to degrade itself to the point we were at after Vietnam, the errors made, and my commentaries on matters of Sociological importance. I am a student of humanity, and as a convicted murderer, may have a greater appreciation of life, then you may think. I certainly know how easy it is to take it away from someone. So my observations tend to be gritty, no-nonsense, and pretty serious.

[edit] Michael W. Posey

The word "nigger" draws revulsion from anyone who hears it. It's too bad, because it isn't a slur, or anything bad. The word "nigger" is simply a description of "throwaway" people. People who have no value, no worth, and no one misses them when they're gone. There are niggers of all colors, and religions. The Palestineans are Arab niggers, because the other Arab countries don't care about them, and never tried to help them. They had no value.

Many White people are niggers too. They are people who society has let slip through the cracks, the chronically homeless, the mentally ill, the very sick, the old, the infirm. They are niggers by definition. Until someone has value, has worth, they are, basically a nigger. So if I call someone a nigger I'm simply saying, "you have no value and you are never going to be missed..." If people have a hard time with this, think about it, just for a second.

[edit] jcseattle

Hello. So, you want to know about me? It strikes me as very interesting then that when I attempted to share my interest and thoughts with you that they were deleted, practically as soon as I began writing my article. I must say that deletion annoyed me. My first thought was these are just a bunch of bigots. I used your site search to see if the word bigot was on your site. It is.

I do hope you are not a just a bunch of bigots, whether intellectual or otherwise. I know watching American Idol and ESPN the general rule seems to be to see how rude one can be when denying a person access to the process.

It was very tempting to write to you in the emotion of the moment, but I realized I would simply be expressing the attitude of those who don’t really care about others and those who someday, of course, will have to give account for how they have treated others. So I chose not to write in the emotion of the moment. I chose to be rational, and I am endeavoring to be kind.

I did not come here to offer some intellectual bombshell, nor to sit on my high and mighty self righteous pedestal and look down on others. I simply wanted to share my beautiful painting of Muhammad Ali, with the world. This seemed like the appropriate place to do that. There is a variety of art work here and one would think there is room for mine.

But who knows, maybe it is not to be the case. Someone said that I cannot write. LOL. I submit that it is not about grammar, but substance, exhortation, comfort, and encouragement. It’s about making this crime-ridden drug-infested, moral-lacking, inconsiderate world a better place. It’s not about making people feel stupid, even when they are. You don’t have to be made to feel stupid to learn.

So much for freedom of speech, huh? I am John Cain Connally, African American male, 60 years of age, born in Mckinney, Texas. My painting is of Muhammad Ali (jzart.blogspot), an African American Icon.

You may access information on each film through IMDB, as there are no internal links on Wiki), and long-time record label executive and producer (years from 1974 to 1999, when I sold my masters to Didgeridoo Records in Australia) of such famous film soundtracks as The Blue Lagoon, Cheyenne Autumn, Dragonslayer, Four Musketeers, Frances, Sisters, Sophie's Choice, Teen Wolf, Time After Time, Voyage of the Damned, to name but a few. I also re-recorded the original scores from The Best Years of Our Lives, Citizen Kane, The Magnificent Ambersons, as well as the first modern edition of Max Steiner's King Kong from the 1933 RKO film.

I am presently at work on the pre-production for the next Kinopanorama film, which is a fifteen-minute documentary on the historic Puffing Billy Railway in Victoria, Australia.

In January, 2006, I was contacted by Jeremy Sefton-Parke, who ownes Vox Melba Mastering Labs in Broken Hill, and asked to design a 'plug-in' sound carrier for an Edison phonograph cylinder player, so that fragile cylinders could be reproduced with a modern magnetic stylus. I am the youngest son of the Old Settler Cherokee Actor, Jeff Davis Cypert aka Chief Tahachee, you may find an extensive [BIO] on my late father at NativeCelebs and IMDb. I love "Wikipedia", because "Wikipedia" has assisted me and my family greatly in helping to piece together his motion picture publicity, a variety of celebrity events he participated in and many other things involving my late fathers forgotten acting career, which spanned through silent-and-sound motion pictures, i.e., from 1920 to 1960. My late father worked with some of the legends of Hollywood, worked in Film Noir, and of course B-Movie Westerns. I hope to learn more about "Wikipedia" and in the process become a more skillful-researcher, editor and writer. By the way the actors Ramon Navarro, Ben Turpin and Nipo T. I'm technically not a new user as I've been a big fan of Wikipedia for at least the 18 months (or so) prior to the time I wrote what you're now reading. However, I didn't notice this page until recently.

I don't recall how I first learned of Wikipedia but it was before it got a lot of media attention (both positive and negative). I have yet to contribute my own article partly because I've not come up with an idea that someone else hadn't come up with previously. In addition, I'm not the best writer in the world. And I find myself envious of a number of Wikipedians writing style and technique.

Therefore, for the time being, I will just be contributing to existing articles in the form of correcting any misinformation in said articles and/or adding more information to them.

My primary interests are Computers and Software (including Operating Systems - most notably Linux).

In addition, I enjoy Theatre and Music, and I follow the the business of Commercial Aviation, The Travel Industry and Banking.

My contributions here will usually be related to the above interests (and then some).

Hello Wikipedia and fellow members,

I have been a viewer/reader for quite a while now, and am quite glad to have become a member of this growing community. I just read the tutorial and think that I may be a good contributor to the society (even tough I am only a junior in high school:P).

I like the idea of Wikipedia because it seems to be something by the people, for the people. I would describe it as a free massive online encyclopedia used for the bettering of society through the refinement and transfer of knowledge.

I have many interests, and therefore I unfortunately can only say that I have a passion for learning, and that this site suits me. Well now that I have finished rambling (it feels like this is a blog:P)...

I would like to thanks the creators, contributors, and members of Wikipedia for such an outstanding database. Good job, and keep up the editing :) Problemrazor 05:23, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

I have been avidly Blogging for the last 10 months. I am giving that up as a hobby because I am sick of the stupid one liner insults and bickering that accompanies blogging. I hope that wikipedia editing will be more fun and healthier for my mental state.

I plan on working on conspiracy articles because I really like conspiracies. I think they are interesting, even when completely stupid.

I have horrible spelling, but I love to write. Oh well.

I attended a semester of Pre-physics at Montana State - Billings with the goal of entering theoretical cosmology. But the math overwhelmed me. However I look forward to delving back into physics and doing home work for articles that deal with theory. On some levels theoretical physics are similar to conspiracies. You can't always prove both, now can you? Sometimes both end up sounding zany as well.

I would like help loading Identifiers on my profile page. The ones that tell people I am a vegiterian athiest and so on. So if you could help I would appreciate it.

Also I speak German and heve travelled and lived in Europe several times. I now live in Seattle. DartFrog 09:29, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Evening, everyone. Just getting started, here- I haven't got a lot of info to add, but I figured everyone can use an extra copyeditor around, and at some point in the hazy future I might possibly be competent to help with translations from the Spanish wiki. *waves*

I learned about Wikipedia in a casual conversation with a friend in Mexico. I am a writer (in Spanish language) on child and adolescent abuse by parents, and the consequences of abuse in adult life: addictions, neuroses, psychoses and all sort of mental aberrations (see child abuse, psychohistory and especially Alice Miller).

Hello. I am mainly interested in mathematics and computer games, and I think that editing the Wikipedia is quite fun. I made a few anonymous edits before I created this account, but I thought that if I was going to edit seriously then I ought to have an account. I cannot remember when I found out about the Wikipedia, although I am fairly certain that I must have at some point.

It disturbs me a little how much I have used the word "I" in the above paragraph. --Matthew Auger 00:29, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Dear James and Danny,

From: 153 Mikhail Petin

I am engaged in creation of the best project of the New World Calendar Please, see the web-sites:

I found out about the Wikipedia on the Internet-sites.

I kindly ask you to place in Wikipedia my article named:

                                           M.I.Petin

The priciples of the creating of the New World Calendar.

The solar Gregorian calendar, which practically functions now as a World calendar is nevertheless perceived nowadays by the most of our planet population only as Western or Christian calendar.
The analysis of the history of creation of the Gregorian calendar and of its lacks shows the influence on it of certain subjects and phenomena.

For example, one can assert that there is the following dependence:

The Bible - an industrial cycle (work, rest) - a calendar –

- Nature (the Sun, the Moon, the Earth).

In recent times ( IV century CE) Christian Church (the Bible) exerted its influence on the calendar: a mythical industrial cycle (7-day’s week) was introduced into the calendar, which is present in the calendar at the present time.
There observed in Nature the cycles connected with the seen

movement of heavenly bodies (the Sun, the Moon, the Earth). These natural cycles are reflected in a calendar. They are a calendar basis and are used for counting of long time intervals. For example, the seen Sun movement defines the seasonal solar year in a calendar, the Moon movement - the month (lunation), the Earth rotation - the sutki (day + night).

A mythical 7-day’s week is absent in Nature.
A calendar problem, in particular, lies in the fact

that in the 313 year (IV century CE) the Roman Emperor Constantine has wrongly introduced a 7-day’s week into the solar (Julian) calendar when one had legalized Christian. Unfortunately, this mistake was not corrected in 1582 by Roman Pope Gregory XIII and by the author (reformer) Christother Clavius while making the Julian calendar reform.

The mistake of Emperor Constantine is in the inequality

between the duration of a CALENDAR month and the average duration of the NATURAL lunar cycle (29,5305888531 sutki).

Strictly speaking, the duration of one week should be equal to:

                    29,5305888531: 4 = 7,382 … sutki.

Further, taking into account the idea, that in any calendar there can be only the integers (fractional numbers should be approximated to the nearest integers) it is necessary to consider, that:

         I week=7,38х1= 7,38= 7 sutki, i.e. 7,
      I+II week=7,38х2=14,76=15 sutki, i.e. 7+8,
  I+II+III week=7.38x3=22,14=22 sutki, i.e. 7+8+7,

I+II+III+IV week=7.38x4=29,52=30(or 29) sutki, i.e. 7+8+7+8(or 7).

Thus, the next conclusion follows: For conformity of the CALENDAR months to the NATURAL lunar cycles, the following conditions should be observed:

     - the calendar months (lunations) should have structures -
          7+8+7+8 (30 sutki) and 7+8+7+7 (29 sutki),
grouped in the Meton-cycles known from the ancient times
(before the Julian and Gregorian calendars).

The Gregorian calendar is rather accurate and widespread

but besides an erroneous 7-day’s week it has a number of lacks: - the duration of months is different (from 28 up to 31 days), - the months of different duration alternate randomly, - the quarters of a year have different duration (from 90 to 92 days), - the first half-year period is always shorter than the second one (three days - in an ordinary year and two days - in a leap year), - the years and months begin with different week days, - 10 - 11 weeks " are split ", i.e. one part of them belongs to one month, the other part belongs to the other month, - the number of working days in different months of the same year is various (23-27 days at a six-day working week and 19-23 days at a five-day working week), - the dates of months are not coordinated with week days

as well as the with Moon phases,

- the calendar is not convenient for women (in a female calendar the periods of the women biorhythms are close to the periods of lunar cycles), - a non-Christian part of the Earth’s population (5 billion

persons from 6 billion of the total number of people on
the Earth) criticizes the Gregorian calendar (see web-site -http://www.icacci.org/english/pages/home.html ),

- the initial date in a calendar is only a myth, a legend, but

    not the fixed astronomical phenomenon.

How can all these lacks be eliminated?

   A New World Сalendar should:

- be a double calendar, i.e. a solar (seasonal) and a lunar-solar one. Note. Such official STATE calendars (but with a 7-day’s week)

exist now, for example, in Israel, UAE, etc,

- have structures of months: 7+8+7+8 (30 days) and 7+8+7+7 (29 days), - have the initial date in a calendar as the astronomical phenomenon instead of myths, legends about the birthdays of prophets etc., - be precisely synchronized (an accuracy -/+ 1.5 day) in relation to natural solar and natural lunar cycles, - be acceptable for any religion, - etc.

For the last 200 years the calendar experts have created a lot of projects of calendars with a 7-day's week. But all of them are as though « the curve mirrors » which are not convenient to use.
The unique project of a calendar « with a flat mirror »

(i.e. 7+8+7+8 and 7+8+7+7) is placed on sites: http://WorldCalendarPetin.narod.ru/index.htm http://Petin1Mikhail.narod.ru/index.htm

The new World Calendar has a number of advantages in

comparison with the solar Gregorian or other calendars: - it is not required to introduce the "special" dates. Dates 15 and 30 of the lunar months are the same usual integral days of the week, as all others, - the duration of months is unified - 29 and 30 days, - the structure of months – constant and easily remembered, - the lengths of lunar years are reduced from six values up to three: 354, 355, 384 days, - the quantity of working days in each month is constant (24 days at a 6-day working week and 20 days at a 5-day working week), - the months, quarters of years and years begin and finish at the same days of a week, - the dates of months and days of a week are synchronized with phases of the Moon (with the rotation of the Moon around the Earth), which allows to take into account the workers efficiency in productions connected with the biorhythms, arising under the influence of the Moon, - the new calendar is more convenient for women, than the Gregorian Calendar, - all calendar cycles:

          - the sutki (day + night),
          - the lunation (lunar month),
          - the solar year,
          - the Meton cycle (19 solar years),
          - the Grand Meton cycle (6479 solar years) -

correspond to the natural rotation periods of heavenly bodies (the Sun, the Moon, the Earth ) relative to each other, - each Grand Meton cycle is attached to the precise heavenly time reference points of time (orientirs), i.e. the moments of the mutual position of the Sun, the Moon, the Earth when the Southern solstice, the solar eclipse, midday are simultaneously observed and when the solar eclipse will be repeated through the lunation period.

Such next in turn combination of mutual positions of the mentioned above heavenly bodies had taken place on

December 20, 1786 with the subsequent repeated solar eclipse on January 19, 1787, see the web-site:

http://sunearth.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse/SEcat/SEcatalog.html .

- correction of discrepancy of lunar and solar years concerning the calendar structure and also between themselves is simple; it can be carried out by high precision compensating methods.

The New World PETIN-METON calendar is the answer to

a question on a calendar reform which was raised in 1953 in the United Nations under the initiative of the India delegation which had offered "to ratify for whole of the world a new, uniform and constant calendar, astronomically coordinated with the movement of the Earth around the Sun which be more correct, scientifically reasonable and favourable, as compared with the Gregorian calendar".

The account of lunar months and solar years in the new World

PETIN-METON Calendar creates conditions for rapprochement of religious traditions of Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Buddhism etc., based on the most ancient observation of the seen movements of the Sun, the Moon, the Earth.

Being guided by the preservation of an invariance of each

religious doctrine, and also principles of friendly mutual relation, one can hope, that spiritual academies of different countries will consider an opportunity of application of the new solar + lunar-solar calendar in their states as the World calendar.

Expansion of cultural, trading, technical, telecommunication

connections between peoples (especially rapid development of the Internet-network in recent years) facilitates the calendar reform, which is of great international value.

           Definitions, terms and symbols

Natural cycles:

- natural solar sutki (day + night) - a time interval between two consecutive same culminations of the natural Sun centre at daily rotation of the Earth around its own axis.

Owing to non-uniformity of the year's movement of the Earth on an orbit, and also non-perpendicular of Earth axis to a plane of its orbit the natural solar sutki duration are changeable within one year.

- natural tropical year = 365,242192 natural solar sutki - a time interval between two consecutive passages the centre of the natural Sun through the East equinox's point at annual movement of the Earth on an orbit.

- solar Meton cycle = 19 solar years = 6939,6017 sutki - the period of time, practically equal to the lunar Meton cycle, i.e. 235 lunar sinodic months (6939,6883 sutki ), - solar Grand Meton cycle = 341 solar Meton cycles = 6479 solar years = = 2 366 404,2 sutki - the period of time, after which the Earth and the Moon (on the Southern solstice day) come back to the initial position concerning the Sun,

- mean lunation (mean lunar sinodic month) = 29,5305888531 sutki – the mean value of the time interval between two consecutive identical phases of the Moon, - lunar year = 12 (13) mean lunations – the time intervals according to Table-calendars (types МА, МВ, Мcorr) – http://WorldCalendarPetin.narod.ru/table-calendars.htm . - lunar Meton cycle = 235 mean lunations = 6939,6883 sutki – the period of time, practically equal to the solar Meton cycle, i.e. 19 solar years (6939,6017 sutki ), - lunar Grand Meton cycle = (341 х 235 – 1) mean lunations = 2 366 404,2 sutki – the time interval, after which the Earth and the Moon (on the Southern solstice day) come back to the initial position concerning the Sun.

- 1 precession cycle = 25 796,178 solar years (tropical) is the period of movement the Earth axis on the cycle cone about stars (precession). In the World PETIN– METON Calendar the influence of precession is taken into account by means of the solar years (tropical).

- d - the drift of the lunar cycle relatively the solar cycle.

                      (6939,6883 – 6939,6017) sutki velocity of drift d = ------------------------------- =

Calendar cycles:

а) solar calendar: - mean Sun - on the Earth's equator the fictitious point moving within the year in regular intervals with such speed, that it always passes through the Eastern equinox point simultaneously with natural the Sun,

- mean solar sutki = 1 mean sutki (further: sutki) - a time interval between two consecutive same daily culminations of the mean Sun,

- calendar tropical year (further: tropical year) = 365,242192 sutki - a time interval between two consecutive passages of the centre of the mean Sun through the Eastern equinox point.

Its duration slowly changes and equal to

365,24219879 - 0,0000000614 (Т - 1900) mean solar sutki, where: Т - the current year.

- Equation of time - a difference between the mean and natural solar sutki. The Equation of time continuously varies.

Four times in the each year, namely: about April 16, June 14, September 1 and December 25 the Equation of time is equal to zero and achieves the greatest value (on absolute size) 4 times:
         About February 12 - .... + 14,3 minutes,
                    May 15 - .... - 3,8 minutes,
                   July 27 - …. + 6,4 minutes and
                   ember 4 - …. - 16,4 minutes,

- solar month - a time interval determined, for example, by the Gregorian solar calendar, - week = 7 (or 8) days – an industrial cycle, i.e. 5 (or 6) days of work and 2 (or 3) days for rest, - weekdays can be named, for example, in the following way: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Lunaday.

Weekdays are synchronized with phases of the calendar mean Moon (see below – a lunar-solar calendar),

- DoM – day of month, - DoW – day of week, - solar year = 365 sutki, - leap-year = 366 sutki, - an intercalary day = 1 sutki, - solar Meton cycle МА = 19 solar years = 6940 sutki – http://WorldCalendarPetin.narod.ru/typeMA.htm - solar Meton cycle МВ = МА - 1 sutki = 6939 sutki , - solar Grand Meton cycle GMet = 6479 solar years = 2 366 404 sutki.
