[edit] Can you help me create a article

Since you are the creator on wiki project Heavy metal. I need help creating a article on The Monolith Deathcult it was one of the articles that needed creating. I have creating the article 3 times. I'm a kind of new member to the project (I joined on June 2) so might not know a lot of things. Leave me a message on my talk page. -- Metal Maiden 21:53, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Iron Maiden

You're right, I did act hastily without looking further into the matter. I'll keep that in mind.

BTW, don't forget to add an edit summary next time. The first time you put classic metal you didn't provide an edit summary. Most of your other edits do not have an edit summary as well. — Prodigenous Zee - 13:15, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] August Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: To-Do List
The Esperanza To-Do List is a place where you may list any request, big or small, for assistance. If you need help with archiving your usertalk, for example, all you need to do is list it here and somebody will help you out. Likewise, if you need help with some area of editing on Wikipedia, list it here! Again, any matter, trivial or not, can be placed on this page. However, all matters listed on this page must not be of an argumentative nature. You do not need to be a member of Esperanza (or this program) to place or fulfill requests on this page. If you don't have any requests, consider coming by and fulfilling a few! This program has not been very active, but has lots of potential!
What's New?
In order to help proposed programs become specific enough to make into full-fledged programs, the In development section of the proposals page has been created. Proposals that are promising, but need to be organized in more detail are listed here. Please take a look at what is there, and help the proposals turn into programs.
To improve both the layout and text of the front page, in an attempt to clarify the image of Esperanza, the front page is going to have some redesigning take place. Please take your creative minds to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Front page redesign to brainstorm good ideas.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  1. In order to make sure all users who join Esperanza are welcomed, a list of volunteers who are willing to welcome new Esperanzians is at Wikipedia:Esperanza/Members#Esperanza_welcomers. Please add yourself if you are interested; we want to make sure all new Esperanza members are welcomed!
  2. The In development section of the proposals page has been created.
  3. Proposals page: Some proposals have been moved to the aforementioned "In development" section, some have been left as a proposal, and others have been archived. For those proposals that were a good idea but didn't necessarily constitute a program, General Esperanzial Actions has been created.
  4. Two small pieces of charter reform will be decided on in a straw poll at Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Governance. One involves filling the position of any councillors who may leave, the other involves reforming the charter.
  5. Until cooperation with the Kindness Campaign is better defined, it remains as a proposed program.
  6. There is a page for discussing the front page redesign.

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

[edit] License tagging for Image:MarcoMendoza.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:MarcoMendoza.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 05:02, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nu Metal

I have heard similar arguments against Hair Metal bands in the 80's, the reality is stylistic and finicial motivations aside, if you look solely at the Music of the Nu Metal bands, the show the same agression the same favor of loud heavy sounds as Metal.

No they are not a form of Extreme Metal, nor are they in my opinion Good. However, they are as heavy as Blue Oyster Cult. They use speeded tempos, they do make use of drums and guitar in a manner that is similar to Metal.

Talking about rebellion and such has nothing to do with Metal Music, but metal culture. Nu Metal probably doesn't have a place in Culture of Metal, but it is a Form of metal music. Alos, you speak of niavety, but surely you must know the story of the NSBM movment in Norway and its torrent of flames and blood? There is nothing niave about it. Are Nu Metal acts more intrested in money? I don't know, Metallica thinks its wrong ot copy its songs without permission now that they are big...so, do they stop being metal now that they want money?

Or how about Ozzy allowing a show about his family to be broadcasted on MTV (owned by Time/Warner)? Isn't that a form of selling out? Does that make him and Black Sabbath no longer metal?

Or what about bands like: Demon Hunter, Antestor, As I Lay Dying all of whom sing about Christ, after all chrisitian is part of the "establishment" isn't it? Atechi 17:10, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your signature

Hello there, I was wondering if you would please modify your signature to conform to the guidelines laid out at Wikipedia:Sign your posts on talk pages. The general guidelines are that signatures shouldn't contain images, they shouldn't contain unnecessary internal links or any external links, and they shouldn't be unnecessarily long in Wiki source. The reasoning for this final bit is that overly long signatures tend to overwhelm the actual comments in edit mode, making it hard to track down and respond to specific comments. You can fix your signature by removing any images and external links, any unnecessary links (like links to Wikipedian organizations, articles, or subpages in userspace), and removing excessive color, font, and formatting code. Thank you. --Cyde Weys 21:18, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Can you help on the Cheema article?

Hi, I was wondering if you can help on the Cheema article. It needs cleaning up, etc. And footnotes added currently which I don't know how its done. Maybe you can get other members also to help out thanks. --Street Scholar 18:05, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tagging

Please share your insights with the guy who is tagging "Rashtrakuta" page even before he can provide his arguements. I have been trying to explain to him about this too. Also, I only intend to add info from my source. Whether it makes you happy or unhappy is not my purpose or intention. History cant be hidden just because one community does not like it.

[edit] Re:Your message on Bhadaniji's page

Hi, NRS, I saw your comments on Bhadaniji's page and I went to the article with the intention of helping but its an obvious copyvio from [1]. I am putting it up for speedy deletion. If you are interested in recreating the article, I can work with you to help it reach DYK. Dont worry, it doesnt have to be large, just relevant. Regards -- Lost(talk) 18:19, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] re Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Historiography

This article appears to be direct copy of text from here. While I appreciate your contributions to the encyclopedia, we can't accept text from another website (which is presumably under copyright). So the article has to be deleted for copyright reasons. But if you used the article as a basis for an article which you wrote yourself, that would be OK. Cheers, Herostratus 04:45, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] DYK

Vow! It shall be great.Should I make a new sub-section on that article (about some uniqueness of Maharashtrians)?

I did understand a bit about DYK,but since i know very little about Wiki procedures, I request u to contact concerned admins.I dont know who is the admin for DYK.Perhaps Arya Rajya knows about it.

Certainly it will be very nice if this article features in DYK section. mahawiki 05:52, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

I have forwarded a request for inclusion of that article ion DYK to a admin.See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Bhadani#Featured_article_request

[edit] Thanks For The Barnstar

Hey, thank you very much for the barnstar. It's good to know my work is appreciated. I saw your and mahawiki's additions to Marathi people. Yeah, it would be great to elevate the article to "Did You Know" status. I'll resume my work on it. Bye and thanks once again.

[edit] September Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: Barnstar Brigade
Here in Wikipedia there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go unappreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go unnoticed. As Esperanzians we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. This is where the Barnstar Brigade comes in. The object of this program is to seek out the people which deserve a Barnstar, and help them feel appreciated. With your help, we can recognize more dedicated editors!
What's New?
September elections are upon us! Anyone wishing to be a part of the Advisory Council may list themselves as a candidate from 18 September until 24 September, with the voting taking place from 25 September to 30 September. Those who wish to help with the election staff should also list themselves!
Appreciation Week, a program currently in development, now has its own subpage! Share your good ideas on how to make it awesome there!
The Esperanza front page has been redesigned! Many thanks to all who worked hard on it.

Sir,

Why you want to block me without any reason? In your POV buddha was an Avatara. Its not in my point of view. Why dont you publish your backing documenets/references to this fact(?).

[edit] WikiProject Maharashtra

Just curious. Why did you move the project out? I thought it would be best for the taskforces/workgroups to work under one umbrella of the India project. Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 06:12, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Can I suggest you not to create a seperate project notice for Maharashtra and use the {{WP India|maharashtra=yes}} instead? Regards, Ganeshk (talk) 06:18, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks! Happy Diwali to you. :) - Ganeshk (talk) 06:21, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use image on userbox

Hello. Nice job on the new project. Hope this project works hard to create many more Maharasthra related FAs. Just a minor point - {{Template:User WikiProject Maharashtra}} contains a fair-use image Image:Maharashtraseal.png. Such images should not be used outside of the article space especially on userboxes. Please use a free image for such purposes. Thanks. And yes, wish you a very happy Diwali :) - Aksi_great (talk) 10:03, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A question about Tilak

Hello NRS | T/M\B. We already talked a bit in the Shivaji talk page article. I am not at all a specialist in Indian history and politics, but I would like to have your opinion on the following, which I post here since I don't want to trigger any war-edit on the Wikipedia pages related to India.

Here it is: there is a strange point I don't understand very well. As you know, Tilak has written a book called "The Artic Home in the Vedas" in which he develops about a basic fact well established in the Vedas, according to the the Artic origin of the anciant founders of Hinduism (of course, that may be symbolic, but this is another debate). But the surprising point is the following: as you surely know, there is very harsh discussion (more or less related to Indian politics) about the Aryan Invasion Theory. But a fact which seems to be less known is that Tilak was the guru of Vinayak Savarkar ! Have you any explanation about that ? For me the explanation is the following: it is likely that all the recent stuff about AIT-refutal may come from outside India, even if its visible proponents are Indians. You see what I mean ? Thank you for exchanging info about that, it might be quite interesting. AlexOriens 10:54, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
