Newsroom on Access SF is a collaborative effort between San Francisco's community public access station (Channel 29), and a group of volunteer producers to bring community reported and produced, independent news and interviews from a grassroots viewpoint. Newsroom on Access SF strives to bring voices and issues of relevance from around the world. Because the program is not sponsored by any business entity or individual, it is unencumbered by anyone or anything.
The first episode was taped on March 31, 2004. Among its numerous accolades, Newsroom on Access SF won a WAVE (Western Access Video Excellence) award in 2005 for Community News Program Non - Professional, and was nominated for a 2004-2005 Emmy Award (National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences San Francisco/Northern California Chapter) in the Current/Public Affairs Program category.
