[edit] Player Edit

Changed Humberto Sanchez from USA to DOM - however, he was born in the DR and grew up in New York. I did this to match Manny Ramirez, who also was born in the DR and grew up in Washington Heights, as he is listed as Dominican even though he is an American citizen. Which is best?Curlingforever 23:56, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Player Edition question

Should their be some way to show Roger Clemens has signed with the yankees even thought he not the the 40 man roster? Jackalsclaw 11:40, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

No. He has only signed a minor league contract at present. There is no need to put him on the roster until such time as his contract is purchased by the Yankees. - RPIRED 13:15, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
No. This roster is only for the 40-man roster, which Clemens is not on as of now. Michael Greiner 18:56, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] why ARod removed, but not Rivera and Posada

Why was Arod removed from the roster, but not the other free agents who have filed, including Rivera, Posada, and others? Simon12 02:57, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

No idea, I'd remove them. Teams may have negotiating rights by the players are not members of the team anymore.►Chris NelsonHolla! 03:06, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
I have removed Posada, Rivera, Rodriguez, and Molina. None of them have officially signed; if they had, the Yankees would have 43 players on the 40-man roster. I also fixed Robby Canó's name. Brad E. Williams (talk) 00:50, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
I have re-removed Posada. He has agreed to a new contract (as has Rivera), but he has not officially signed, most likely so they can protect as many players as possible from the Rule V Draft. This is evidenced by the team's official transaction page (http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/transactions/index.jsp?c_id=nyy) and their 40-man roster page (http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/team/roster_40man.jsp?c_id=nyy). As of right now, the only catcher on the Yankees ML roster is Francisco Cervelli. Brad E. Williams (talk) 22:26, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Crystal link

What does the link say, I am not subscribed to that service? What makes Crystal any different from the tons of minor leaguers that play spring training games?►Chris NelsonHolla! 15:46, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

Yankees official daily team press release: March 12 Transaction: "Signed INF Billy Crystal to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training; optioned RHPs......" That's why he's different that the minor league guys not in camp that play... he's officially in camp. JustSomeRandomGuy32 (talk) 15:52, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
