Removed "notable native" reference to Benjamin Stove which according to a Des Moines Register article [1] appears to be the creation of one blogger and is his attempt to generate publicity. In fact, the link removed went to that blogger's website. Reference to this fictional character from one man's blog does not seem in keeping with the Wiki intent of encyclopedia. --yokyle 05:01, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
Removed Uncle Nancy's from the "points of interest." It's a nice little shop but Newton's not famous for it. Andrewdoane 13:56, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
Removed "notable native" Scott Delgado from the page. This appears to be another attempt to generate publicity by an individual. "All Iowa Cow-Tipping Competition"? Seriously.Andrew42280 18:32, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
Considering deleting Jack and Mary Penny from the notable list as well. Any thoughts?Andrew42280 18:32, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
Removed International Wrestling Museum from the list of notable places. It has packed up and left for points elsewhere. RIP [User:Oftheson] 17:18, 24 April 2007
[edit] Labor History of Newton, IA
Anonymous user (147.155.4.113) removed all text regarding the 1983 strike without explanation. The 1938 strike is documented in Wiki article for Newton with a link to Time Magazine's original story. Perhaps the section could be written better or expanded but it seems like a significant event in the history of the town. Let's discuss this issue further before removing the complete reference to the event. yokyle 01:55, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
