I might have risked conflict-of-interest here: I'm friendly with the webcomic's creator, and I'm doing art for his other feature. However, I've no input into Newshounds itself and no knowledge of it that isn't public. I've done my best to keep the article neutral, and the creator didn't ask me to write it. The other feature is now quite separate from Newshounds. Tim J Tylor 14:01, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)

I'm also friendly with the webcomic's creator, but the article seems fairly close to a NPOV to me. Chip Unicorn 20:18, 4 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Fans of Newshounds category

I have created a category for, "Wikipedians who are fans of Newshounds", which also has it's own userbox. See {{user Newshounds}}. ISD 17:55, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Good Article nomination

I have decided to put Newshounds for a good article nomination, because it contains images, references, external links, it is stable and is just over 25kB (26.3kB). ISD 16:00, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] GA failed promoted

These reasons are given :

  • The paragraph KPET started of as a small station ... needs a copyedit.
  • This needs rephrasing After this incident, he proposed marriage to Rochelle, and said yes.
  • Her mother was a spy and was sent to Iraq with a microchip implanted in her, but when the First Gulf War started, the United States did not need it. this doesn't comply with the WP:WIAGA, working with fiction since we cannot see the out-of-universe view.
  • The section Minor characters should become prose since it would help the reading and make better phrases than these : Human. Ernest and Julia are Lorna's parents., Male Human., Female Human. ...
  • It is too listy ... not complying to 1a. Lincher 02:44, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
GA awarded after some work was done by wikipedian ISD who gave great efforts in bringing the article up to par with GA criteria. The next step toward the article's improvement is to expand the article and bring to prose whatever that can be. Regards. Lincher 16:35, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Featured article nomination

I have decided to put Newshounds for a good article nomination, because it contains images, references, external links, and it is stable. ISD 10:44, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

Since the peer review has been completed, I've renominated the article. ISD 13:50, 26 August 2006 (UTC).

I'm going to try and get it featured again.

[edit] Peer review

Since the article failed, I decided to ask for a peer review. ISD 14:13, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikiproject Cats?

Although I welcome anyone who wants to help improve this article, I wonder how much cat fanciers would get out of Newshounds. Only one major character is feline, and he's been used more as a Democrat ranter (and recently, for a cute falling-in-love sequence) than as a feline. The other major characters are either dogs or humans. On the other hand, I'm not part of the Wikiproject Cats group, and I don't mind them coming here for this article... It's not so much what we'd get out of the article, but what we might be able to add to the article. Our ambitions are to improve all the articles in the scope of our group. This article is already a good article, so it might not need as much improvement as some of the others, but by tagging it there is a chance that some of our members (we've got over 40 right now) might decide to try to find a way to improve the article on the basis of the banner being here. Also, should the time ever come for peer review or featured-article consideration, we may well try to do what we can to help to bring the article up to that level. Lastly, it was included in one of the "cat" categories, and I've been tagging all the articles in those categories with the banner. You are free to remove it if you see fit.
