[edit] Requested move
Newark Castle, Inverclyde → Newark Castle, Port Glasgow – … Rationale: The page was moved from Newark Castle, Port Glasgow, with the edit summary stating "std dab by local govt". This "std" is not reflected in the Castles in Scotland list, where Newark Castle, Fife is the only other title to use the current local govt. name. Nisbet, Berwickshire uses the historic county, and Beaufort Castle, Scotland the country. The Earl's Palace, Kirkwall and Bishop's Palace, Kirkwall use the town name, Earl's Palace, Birsay the name of the village and parish. Using the county or region name is useful for castles in the countryside, but not the normal usage for castles in towns. The "std" was not discussed on the talk page or on Wikipedia:WikiProject Scottish Castles.
- The castle is known by the original title, as is shown by the external links, and not by the new name. Although the Historic Scotland link has been given the title "Newark Castle, Inverclyde - site information", the page itself is titled Sites Detail and it makes no mention of Inverclyde, describing the castle's location as "In Port Glasgow".
- A google search for "Newark Castle, Inverclyde" turned up two pages with only one article using that name[1] which was not a wikipedia article or mirror, though it did find the place on geodaisy, a link on Attractions A-Z to Hotels near Newark Castle: Port Glasgow, and the Historic Scotland page already mentioned. A search for "Newark Castle, Port Glasgow" found ten pages, mostly using that name for the castle, and four[2][3][4][5] using that title. It is therefore appropriate to restore the page to its original title.

- Support - use common names, it seems clear that Port Glasgow is most common disambiguator here (though redirects from other 'standard' names are a good idea). --Vclaw 10:15, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- Support per rationale above. --Cactus.man ✍ 10:45, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
