Talk:Newark Castle, Nottinghamshire
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I'm pretty sure this is referring to the Newark Castle in Nottinghamshire. (see http://www.newarkadvertiser.co.uk/notts/tourism/castle.htm.) Yet, it is linked from the page on Inverclyde, which is in Scotland (and where I live.) There is a Newark castle here, in Port Glasgow, but it is NOT the one that this page is describing.
I suggest a disambiguation page, but I'm not willing to do it myself in case I've just got the wrong end of the stick regarding the two castles.
[edit] "founded by Egbert, king of the West Saxons"
If it was, it was the earliest castle in England by a good two hundred years. :-) (RJP 13:55, 15 March 2006 (UTC))

[edit] Newark Castle Civil War Trail
Newark Castle is really a stronghold for the English Civil War during 1645-1649. It encounted three bloody sieges with sword and gunpowder.
