I made the mega-casino link because they have a number of common properties not shared by regular casinos, and it was a reminder to get around to writing it up. Also the nighttime picture is from the east - a shot from the northeast would have Excalibur's rear towers appearing behind Liberty. Stan 05:05, 6 Jun 2004 (UTC)

I agree that it's not exactly from the northeast, but, judging from the angle of the "skyline," it seems to me to be not exactly due east, either. To make sure we're accurate, without using a phrase like "somewhat north of east," I've changed the caption to say that the photo was taken "from the Strip," which is certainly correct. (Wherever it's from, by the way, it's an excellent addition. It's much better to have a photo with the article, instead of just an external link.) As for the mega-casinos, there's no bright-line test as to what does or doesn't qualify. That would make a separate article problematic. (For example, some people would include the Stratosphere, some wouldn't.) The article on casino is pretty sketchy right now, and I'd say that a section on mega-casinos would fit better there. Anybody looking for basic information about casinos wouldn't know to search for "mega-casino" anyway. JamesMLane 05:27, 6 Jun 2004 (UTC)
I didn't notice the key bit of evidence before - the footbridge in the foreground is the one that runs straight east/west over LV Blvd on the north side of Tropicana, and it's on the righthand side of the picture, which means the picture is taken from slightly south of east. (I've been planning to take pictures myself, just been lazy about getting down there.) For mega-casinos, you're right, I'll add content to casino first before talking about splitting. The picture was taken going up the escalator on the north-east side of the corner - Tim
