The article is currently based on one line of one episode of TNG. This organisation is non-notable even within the ST canon, IMHO. If it can't be expanded (i.e. with new material from Enterprise?), it probably should be deleted, IMHO. Comments and rebuttal of course welcome. Cheers, Badgerpatrol 00:39, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
I don't think there is any more material to use to expand it. They never mentioned the NUN in Enterprise. Maybe if it was mentioned in one of the novels, but I haven't seen it anywhere... -- Ritchy 03:56, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
Hmm, then what do you think? I see that you've put a bit of work into it, and I hate to suggest it, but there is essentially nothing more to add about this organisation other than the fact that one character once mentioned its existence in a throwaway line- can it be merged elsewhere, deleted, or do you think it's worth saving? Badgerpatrol 11:01, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
I don't think we should delete it, if only because I don't like deleting information from Wikipedia. Merging it would be a good option, though. Is there a "Star Trek Governments" or "UN in Fiction" page this could be merged into? -- Ritchy 15:39, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
Maybe we could merge it with African Confederation and United Earth, and create a "Fictional Star Trek Earth governments" page? We could also add that throwaway line in "The Royale" about the US flag changing/disappearing in 2070-something. What do you think? -- Ritchy 18:55, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
Hi Ritchy- I personally think that it's a good idea to merge the AC, NUN, and UE articles into one page, per your suggestion. All of those pages are short, and it's not clear that there will ever be enough info to expand them significantly (although I ought to point out that I am an ST fan, but not a hardcore one- I'm not that familiar with the novel series and other non-movie, non-TV canon). We might want to canvass other opinions, but barring something egregious I am strongly in favour. Badgerpatrol 23:55, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
Done and done. The new page is Earth governments (Star Trek).
