[edit] Article name

At the moment we have Queensland State of Origin Team and New South Wales Rugby League team. I propose we rename, possibly to:

(this would align with Australia national rugby league team) -- Chuq 01:35, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

But I guess it would make alot of links from various pages stop working. Other than that seems like a good idea. Some blues supporters need to get in there and beef up the NSW page a bit though —Preceding unsigned comment added by 159.53.110.142 (talkcontribs) 12:01, 5 February 2007

The plan being that re-directs would be created from the other names, and links to these redirects would be fixed. -- Chuq 08:33, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

A more accurate rename would be to the New South Wales football team. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.132.221.157 (talkcontribs)

Ehinger222, How would that be accurate? It would be confused with the New South Wales Waratahs Super 14 rugby union team. -- Chuq 10:29, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
Ehinger222, that would be accurate because that is their commen name to us plebs that are not part of the elite media. If it conflicts with soccer than tough luck, facts are facts and that is a fact. The Rugby is not on the same level as league in that regard. Rugby is a pay t.v. sport that is not known outside of elite circles and the Waratahs(tahs) can be described as one of the more successful of many professional Sydney football teams(of several codes). Origin football is pretty much always the most watched t.v. show every year in NSWm everybody watches it and watches it with mates etc. I think it is the greatest football event in the world personally. There would not be an ounce of confusion to any proud NSWelshman about which is the NSW football team. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.132.221.157 (talkcontribs)
There's that tell-tale misspelling of 'common' again. Dibo T | C
My vote is for the status quo. See related discussion at Talk:Queensland_State_of_Origin_Team#Article_name.--Jeff79 08:16, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] NSW Blues

Interestingly, New South Wales Blues sends you to the cricket team. Should it send you here instead? I would bet that if you asked the average NSW person who the "Blues" were, most of them would think of the footy before the cricket. -- Hongooi 13:48, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

No, though it shouldn't be to the cricket either. There is no preference, maybe a disambiguation needs to be made. SpecialWindler talk 07:48, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
