Is this called New Plymouth after the city in New Zealand, Or the one in England? MT
I believe it is after the city of Plymouth, Massachussetts in the U.S. "Vatsun | Talk" 15:15, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
It is named after the city of Plymouth, MA, named for Plymouth Colony, which was in turn named for Plymouth, England. The Plymouth Society of Chicago wanted to create a "utopian agricultural community to demonstrate the use of irrigation and a centralized community plan... named in remembrance of the Pilgrims of Plymouth Colony" (New Plymouth Village Charter, 1894; located in the New Plymouth City Library Archives). [edit] Picture
I added a picture, but it could definitely be improved upon. "Vatsun | Talk" 22:47, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
I guess I'll add some more, if you'd like, once I learn more about the waterwheels. I can't find Cathy Norton's article. Until then, see if you can get some pictures from NPES or the library of the old high school and the fire. Luminece 17:02, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
I added a nice waterwheel picture, I think. I'll try to find more history or information or something. "Vatsun | Talk" 17:41, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, that is a nice waterwheel picture. I’ll be waiting to see more. --DavidD4scnrt (talk) 04:19, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
