Dude, how can someone post about New Llano and NOT EVEN MENTION the fact that it had its start as a transplanted (from California), socialist, community experiment that lasted over 25 years before the Depression knocked it into receivership. New Llano is part (a perhaps, outside of religious/ethnic communities like the Amish or the Menonites, one of the greatest successes) of the late-great American tradition of social experimentation in alternative, utopian communities. For wont of a little extra cash during the worst financial crisis of the last century - a crisis that sunk many greater titans than this little community - this place might still be going. Wikipediaphiles, don't let New Llano down!199.80.65.98 21:07, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
