This is long, but hopefully worth it:

As per X-FORCE #17, this group's formal name is apparently "The High Lords of New Canaan".

New Canaan is also the Earth-4935 name for New York.

The "continuity problem" with the New Canaanites is easily solved. It's not a problem of authors ignoring each other's plots. The work of Nathan Dayspring and the Clan Rebellion did not put Apocalypse to a final death since Apocalypse is a External or a Highlord -- that is, an immortal who can only receive a final death by beheading, which wasn't done. Therefore, Apocaypse still resurrected himself or was resurrected by other means after THE ADVENTURES OF CYCLOPS & PHOENIX #4.

In the ASKANI'SON miniseries which takes place years after AoC&P #4, upon Zero's first appearance, he (Zero) states that his primary objective is the "resurrection of the High Lord" -- that is, Apocalypse. X-FORCE #17 shows that Apocalypse indeed returned, led the New Canaanites, and in fact was the figure (with his name misspelled) seen behind General Parradian Haight as shown in CABLE #6.

Although Apocalypse did not found the New Canaanites, he ends up leading them and with them, finally takes over the world (re. X-FORCE #17). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Drnoh (talk • contribs) 16:13, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
