[edit] What?
Umm on New Balance shoes I often see things like cantilever and other things that don't make sense; what does it all mean? (Sorry for being so vague) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Expo377 (talk • contribs) 02:01, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] NPOV
This article is rather POV, mostly in the features section. It sounds to me like an advertisement for New Balance sneakers. I don't know enough about podiatry to trim it down but it certainly needs to be shorter and less gushing about the benifits of the various features. --TexasDex 01:40, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- There is no "features" section (at least, anymore) so I'm going to take the thing off. --Yarnalgo 17:14, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Made in America
New Balance sent me this information (July 19, 2006) when I complained that the NB shoes I had just purchased read "Made in China". I can't verify the claim -- which is the only reason I haven't added it to Wikipedia -- but below is the info they sent me about product origin.
Men's Running: MADE IN USA M2001GR M2001BK M2000GR M992GL M991GL, M991NV, M991BK M990GR M587NV M498GR/W MW811WT, MW811BK, MW811BE

And it goes on to say: "There are six New Balance owned and operated factories. Five are in the U.S. and one is in the U.K." ... "There are four core subcontracted factories in China, one in Vietnam, and one in the U.S. In total, about 75% of all our shoes are produced in factories not owned by New Balance."
[edit] Discussion on merge
Support and this thing has been there over 2 months so I'm going to give it another 2 or 3 days and then merge the articles. --Yarnalgo 17:14, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] NBAS - Neonatal Behavioral Assesment Scale
Someone should write an article about the psychological child devlopment instrument NBAS. Much more interesting and important than som shoe manufactorer.
- Someone already did.--chris.lawson 21:42, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Online retail edit
Removed nbwebexpress as official New Balance online store. New Balance does not currently have an official online store. NBWebExpress is Independently owned and operated by Express Blessings, Inc., a retail licensee of New Balance Athletic Shoe, Inc
[edit] Disapproval toward prior edits removing entire Made in USA section
I understand that the section that I added may have sounded like PR from New Balance. However, I directly referenced the source of the information(the company) I was unaware that *directly quoting* what a company says about *its own products* was a no-no. I don't understand why no one simply added to this section instead of removing it entirely. Someone should have used these statements as a counterpoint to their own information to round out a *balanced* NPOV position. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Chiaroscuros (talk • contribs).
- I tagged it, but did not remove it myself. I have reinstated it, as I felt the paragraph was worthwhile, but came across as a bit "PR-ish". Fourohfour 12:32, 22 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Made in the UK (sic)
To go with the "Made in the USA" stance, New Balance's British website also promotes its UK factory under the "Made in the UK" banner. See here. 86.132.141.14 (talk) 17:31, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
