NEWS (English: NEWS) is a free, ad-financed daily German language tabloid format newspaper in Switzerland, launched on 5 December 2007. Its name is derived from the English word “News”.

NEWS like other Swiss commuter newspapers, is available in boxes at main transfer points of the public transport system of trains, trams and buses.

News is published by "NP News Print AG" a joint effort of Tamedia (Tages-Anzeiger, Berner Zeitung) and Basler Zeitung Medien which also publishes the Basler Zeitung and the free Baslerstab. There are regional editions for Zürich, Bern, and Basel as well the middle land of the Swiss plateau.

It is claimed that there is 334,000 examples issued. NEWS competes with other German-languge, free, Swiss-newspapers like .ch, 20 Minuten and heute.
