Newark Park
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Newark Park is a National Trust property located near the village of Ozleworth, Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire.
Newark Park was originally a four storey Tudor hunting lodge completed circa 1550 for Sir Nicholas Poyntz of Acton Court near Bristol. It was bought in 1790 by the Clutterbuck family who engaged the architect James Wyatt to remodel it into a four-square house. The house remained in the same family until 1949 when Mrs Power-Clutterbuck gave Newark Park to the National Trust.
