New football stadium in Saint Petersburg

The new football stadium in St. Petersburg, Russia is currently under construction[1], as of 2007. Once completed in December 2008,[2] it will host the home matches of FC Zenit Saint Petersburg. The stadium will have a capacity of 62,000 people.[2] The name of the future stadium has not been decided yet.

The competition between architectural project was won by Kisho Kurokawa's "The Spaceship".The stadium is being built on the location where the former Kirov Stadium used to stand before it was demolished.
